I've been vaping for almost four months now, and started off with a cigarette lookalike. I recently got an eGo but am dissatisfied with the cartridge performance and atomizer life. I'm direct dripping now and it's a PITA to fill every few minutes.

Im looking at clearomizers, but I'm uncertain what to get and what resistance I need. Help would be appreciated!

Resistance is a personal choice, everybody always wants to push new vapers into LR. That can come later.

This guy sure seems to like the E1's. So many makers have these now. The E1's are an ESCO product.

You could get the standard carto complete assembly and a LR replacement head and see what suits you.

Regarding the E1s, I tried one of those and got a burnt rubber taste that fouled the tank of juice, after I tried 4.4v on my eGo Twist. Mine was about 3 ohms, so it really should have been able to handle that, but if you stick to a regular eGo it would probably be fine. Otherwise, it's a pretty neat tank/clearomizer.

There are also similar devices to that, like the Vision eGo Clearomizer (Stardust), which has a new version coming out with replaceable heads, and the Vision Vivi Nova, which already has replaceable heads. I still like the plain old CE2s, but many find them to be too fiddly.

Clearomizers generally don't work well for people that like high wattage vapes, though, so I'd recommend sticking to a reasonable resistance. Personally, I like around 2.4 ohms, as it gives a good vape, and doesn't drain the battery nearly as fast as a 1.5-1.8 ohm would.

It all depends on personal preference. A regular ego is 3.4v, so you probably want something lower. I would say between 1.7 and 2.4. The lower the resistance, the warmer the vape. But you will also use more juice and battery power.

Remember this: volt times volt divided by resistance gives watts. The higher the watts, the warmer the vape. So ego is 3.4. 3.4x3.4= 11.56. Now just divide by resistance you want. Most people want between 5 and 8 watts

There isn't much I haven't tried and the absolute best and most reliable "clear" device has been the CE3s from Discountvapers (Gotvapes calls them the Phoenix bottom coil). They just plain work with no dry hits and no leaking if you fill them properly. I carry KGO 650s at work and use these CE3s every day. I gave up on all the different "Stardusts" as they are just not consistent at all. I finally had one fail yesterday, I had been using it a month and probably refilled it a dozen times - $2 well spent...
