well, I just got mine yesterday, batts come charged. I thought it was just OK. Vaped on it awhile, not all THAT great, then I thought "maybe the batt just needs to be charged more. Put it on the charger and waited for it to turn green, didnt take much more than an hour. I plopped it back in (then I put the spare batt on the charger before bed). Still not that thrilled. Used it off and on through the day today, but found myself going back to my riva 1100 for a really good hit. WELLLL, when I got home from work, I changed it out for the batt that charged all night, and THERE IT WAS!!!! SUCCESS!!! now THATS what im talkin about!!! It obviously needed a REALLY good charge!!

Been using ePower's, one version or another for the past week at work. It's no ProVari, but it ain't bad. And, if I loose it, or drop it 10 stories, I ain't out that much. Once I went VV, it's alittle tough going back. I'm a hoping the VV switch for the ePower is a reality, and comes out soon. JMHO

Cheers,

<<<<<<<<< From the UK here, so please excuse my ignorance what is Noalex?

Hi there
Noalox is a thread lubricant used primarily on electrical lugs and, more specifically, when using aluminum wire. It helps to prevent galling of threads and to help minimize oxidation.
It's becoming a buzz word around here. For this application any non-toxic lube will do...even chapstick :)

I had a good look about on my local high street here in Plymouth but couldn't find noalex for love nor money (could be a us brand thing). Knowing that essentially it was a metal based lubricant to help with threading and prevent rust I simply bought an alternative called 3in1 made by WD40. It seems to do the job just fine. It's essentially an anti rust oil with cleaning and loosening of metals properties, I don't think it'll do any harm to my device. It was invaluable on the e-power as others have noted, the threads on them are pretty tight and can be a hassle getting on at first.

*EDIT: should be Said, it's an oil, meant for all sorts of stuff, from bikes to door hinges, I wouldn't out this stuff anywhere near the atomiser area of any P.V it's probably not all that healthy to be vaping!*

HUGE +1 on the Noalox. Not only does it lubricate the threads, but it does appear to help the conductivity. I had gotten an e-power 18650 and put on the Noalox before using it at all, and absolutely LOVED it. Unfortunately I had a bad switch that died within 2 days. Great vendor and had a replacement 2 days later. I didn't use the Noalox on this switch and found a cooler vape with less flavor and vapor than the previous switch or my iGo. I put on the Noalox and I'm back in vaping heaven :vapor:

This gives some good info Laura

also, there was a discussion last month i believe when someones smok tech rebranded 18650 bat went kaboom while charging(probably had a broken protection circuit, i am unsure of the outcome conclusion)
so make sure not to charge these batteries unattended-
same goes with all batteries though really.

edit:not sure if that was exactly the post i was looking for that i linked, but a forum search on Battery brings up a lot of discussions.
