What should I try next?

Newb here, looking for some advice on what other pieces of kit I should be trying out.

I've been going for a couple of weeks now -- I started with an Ego-C kit (actually some kind of knockoff I think since the batteries are 1100mAh). I later bought some Smoktech 510 XXXL dual-coil cartomizers to try the difference.

The standard eGo-C tank and atomizer systems seem like a brilliant design to me, but the results are very uneven. I find the draws take forever (I got myself in trouble at first, flooding the cone by trying to draw too hard) but even going slow there is sometimes ok flavor and vapor, and sometimes hardly any. I feel like I don't have any control over it. Also they sometimes (not always) heat up to what seems like an unhealthy degree, even after using them for a very short time.

The cartomizers are frankly gross to look at, especially with a dark liquid, and I don't feel like I can really tell when I need to top them off. Not super often since they are really big, but when the liquid is drawn away from the sides (but maybe still on the inner batting) it's tough to tell. Even with frequent top-offs, I get an unpredictable mix of great flavor/th/vapor, hardly anything, and terrible burny flavors. Again, I feel like I'm not in control of the experience. The filler/batting stuff bugs the crap out of me.

So I'm going to have to keep looking for an easy-to-use and consistent setup with decent flavor and vapor (though I care more about the vapor, frankly).

Any ideas or tips on what to try next? I'm thinking of trying:

I have read good and bad things about all of these and don't really know what to do next. I would looove some expert advice!

(FWIW I am very happy with the batteries themselves and have no immediate plans there other than getting more backups)

Thanks!

Since the batteries are okay for you, maybe you can postpone getting the mod bug just yet :)

Anyway, welcome to ECF! Happy vapes.

All of the things on your list are probably worth playing with.

I'm not sure if the inconsistency issue is due to the cartos being XXXXXXXXXXL, but my experience with Boge regular sized cartos has been excellent so far. They are very consistent. Since you have a 1100 mAh battery, you probably should try the low resistance (2.0 Ohm) version for a full, strong vape.

That said, I tend to top off a carto when I feel any drop in flavor and that works for me. But the best setup is with a carto in a tank, like the ones on your list. That will be a good thing to try.

All of the other cartomizers you metion are interesting to explore. I didn't much care for the CE2s myself, but some people like them a lot.

Definitely would try a good dripping atomizer, maybe a bridgeless 306 or even 510. I got hooked on the flavor you get with dripping, and I really like something called the HH 357. This is an expensive atty, but it performs really well, and lasts. Just as with cartos, aim for a lower resistance - 1.7 - 2.5 Ohm for a warmer, fuller vape.

That's all I can comment at this time.

Good luck with finding the best vape :vapor:

Vision Stardust has some very good reviews.
I use the Vision Stone Tank. After some initial fiddling, because I use thick juice, it's been working great for a couple weeks now.
For fiddling-free consistency, it's hard to beat a Boge Carto.
The Kanger bottom coil cartos are getting great reviews as well, but I haven't tried them.

C2's take some tweaking and aren't that great with thicker juice, but if you use thinner juice and get them dialed in right, they're very clean and work well. Plus they're not a nightmare to clean.

C3s and G4s are my favorite because they have a bottom coil. Both have little tricks to fill without leaking, but nothing serious. I like the performance of the G4s better, but I don't care for the mouthpiece, and you can't just use any drip tip.

Fuxomizers are getting better and better, but you still need to pull the plugs and fluff the wicks.

When you can find a clean tasting, filler free, reliable carto with no tricks or tweaking needed, let me know.
