Bigger battery = heavier, sure.
Smaller battery = less time before recharging and usually lower power, less vapour.

I'm not going to try and persuade you not to buy a mini look-a-like ecig, but if you do, don't fall for the marketting hype. Most of them are just terrible. Follow the advice that will appear here shortly.....there are some good ones for a light user.

For $39 U cannot beat this starter kit, which will last U over a year DV eGo-T Starter Kit - 900mah except for $3-$4 a month for new CE4's or 2 simple replacement coils for CE5's a month.....it has everything U need except the liquid/juice for $10.99 which U can buy right here, 50ml bottle (80/20 18mg nicotine) which will last 1-2 months Best E Cigarette | Buy Electronic Cigarettes | E Cig Juice - MT Baker Vapor ......and I will tell ya, don't waste your money or your time on those "mini"...the fake looking Ecigs that are white and and look like a real cigarette cuz after 2-3 weeks U will be throwing it away and buying the EGO type Ecigs I mentioned above

just a side observation, everyone goes through this at first but suddenly you start to realize the size isnt as important at the vape quality. and you very quickly get used to something bigger then a normal cig and after a while you actually come to miss it when trying to use somethings smaller. not saying go with an 8 inch mod but something to think about.

but good luck in making that first step.

Unless smokers were very light smokers, or their number one priority is "it must look like a cigarette" over a much more satisfying vaping experience, I don't often recommend the cigalike or stick-size batteries. It's what I and most vapors started out with, and most of us moved up to the larger eGo batteries or even mods within a few weeks for more power, longer battery time, or more options in juice delivery devices.

It can become extremely frustrating to have to carry a few stick batteries with you to last the day, because each one only lasts 3 - 4 hours, if that. An extremely light smoker like yourself could get by with these during the week, but on the weekends you'll be in the same boat as the rest of us. I'll echo the Smokeless Image brand for cigalikes if that is what you still choose to use.

Smokeless Image battery size comparisons.jpg
Size comparison of a cigarette, two stick batteries (Volts), and three eGo type batteries (Volt X2s - 650 mah, 900 mah, and 1300 mah).

Mah is a battery rating to estimate how long a rechargable battery can be in use before needing a charge. 100 mAh = 1 hour use. Stick batteries usually are 250 - 350 mAh = 2.5 - 3.5 hours. The smallest eGo battery is 650 mAh = 6.5 hours use. 900 mAh = 9 hours. 1300 mAh = 13 hours.

With just a bump up in size to a cigar-form factor, an eGo battery will give you two to four times longer battery use and many more options in juice delivery devices.

There's nothing wrong with a cig-a-like...especially for a casual, light smoker. I was a heavy smoker and started with Volts from Smokeless Image, but there are several good options out there. Most of them fire at the same 3.7 volts as every other battery except the VV styles...it's just how long they last before charging that is different.

As for weight. They are all heavier then a cigarette. It's the balance that is different. You can't really hold them lightly by the "filter". They will just flip out of your hand. It took me awhile to get used to that. You will need to balance them by holding in the middle. This goes against everything you are accustomed to. You would never hold a regular cigarette in the middle (you would shortly burn your fingers). It only takes a few days to get used to...it's just part of the new experience.

Hi, I'm new too. I will offer my newbie tale: I started with a disposable blu. It's a great way to "test the water." I liked it, got a blu rechargeable. All was well for like two weeks. I cut down the analogs but still had a couple a day (down from around a pack) in your case this may help you get through a week but you may revert to analogs on weekends. I splurged and got an eGo Twist and haven't touched an analog since.

My recommendation is to try a disposable. If you like it, skip the rechargeable "cigsalikes" and get an eGo Twist. It's still slim and moderately compact, but with a little room to grow. The ability to put different tanks on it, adjust voltage, and maybe move on to a bigger mod and keep the eGo for when you want something smaller, that's my plan.

I'm no pro by far, but I was recently in your shoes so this was my experience :)

This. This is nearly my exact story and recommendation.

Sent from my phone, please excuse typos.

Diddo here also. I would venture to say 80 to 90 percent of success stories end with a battery source that will last all day. In the end Size does matter LOL. Blu rechargeables lasted about 2 hours for me. EGo twist about 6 hours. I have found that anything that can support an 18650 battery will get me through a normal day away from the house and best of all i can carry a charged battery with me. In the beginning i realized i was doing the stinkies worrying about my batteries going out or waiting for them to charge or heaven forbid smoking a stinky so my batteries would not run out (Um-Ya-what purpose did that Have??)

Yes i smoked 2+ packs of Reds a day so my results are based on my old habit. IN the end when i started vaping i knew this was a chance for me to get off the Marlboro's so i didn't give up when the other ecig's didn't work.

I do wish i would have listened to others more quickly so i could have a few more shares of my favorite stocks.

For a cig a like I'd recommend vEppo with the pre-filled cartomizers... BUT I think you'll quickly realize you can get a more enjoyable vaping experience with something like an eGo or I'd even say maybe a Joye510 pen style - both uses juice you buy and refill as needed.

You can get the vEppo from e-cigarette direct and the joye510 from many online vendors. Google and ECF are your friend :) happy vaping!
