Depends on what you mean by "tank". Many people use the term to indicate either a carto-tank or a clearomizer.

Some folks swear by one and swear at the other.

If you are referring to carto-tanks, the most popular and most commonly praised brand are those from IBTanked. Though there are quite a few other makers/brands out there, the IBT's are consistently liked.

If you are referring to clearomizers, that's a much wider and varied field (and to be honest, one that I've not extensively dabbled in). I've heard good things about the Innokin iClear 30's, but again, there's much more variation when it comes to clearomizers than carto-tanks (where the tank is simply a reservoir for your liquid and the carto is what really makes/breaks the vape).

I recently went to try carto-tanks and took a "bargain basement" approach. I purchased a double-handful of the SmokTech Pyrex DCT Tanks (they were <$10 per) so that I could tank my various liquids and simply switch heads. While the tanks are inexpensive, they are not as well-made as say the IBTanked, and they are essentially "disposable" since they have fixed end-caps and non-replaceable seals/o-rings.

Since I bought them to see if carto-tanks were a good fit for me, it was a relatively inexpensive way for me to test. Now that I know that I like carto-tanks, as these cheap ones fail (and sooner or later, they will), I plan on replacing them with a more premium carto-tank, most likely the IBT's.

I like the Anyvape Viva bcc. Its a tighter draw and very reasonably priced. Its plastic but I don't vape any crackers so its not an issue. Otherwise I use evods and it shares the same coil as the Anyvape as long as they are the short style.

I also have a Vapeonly bcc but the coils take a bit of fiddling to get right and the coils only fit that tank. Once dialed in though its a good tank.

I have a Protank but rarely use it. Way too airy for me.

I actually like most of the clearomizers and cartomizer that I've used so far:

clearos: iclear16, 30 & 30S, Kanger Protank2 and PT2 mini, & Vivi Nova
cartos: Smoktech dual coil, single coil, Boge and various short, tankless cartos.

I think they all have their good points and bad, its really how you use them in combination with various juices and devices. For example, I can crank up the wattage and get very rich flavor and warm vape with the iclear30 series, but wouldn't do the same with the Protank2. I can run the Protank 2 off a VV ego battery and have a very crisp, cool tasting vape, but that wouldn't work so well with the iclear30-s.

I can change the draw resistance with all the devices using various plinths, drip tips and/or orings; everything is really customizable to your preference.

I like a mix of fruit/mint for my dripper carto's, sweeter fruit flavors in my cartomizers and a more citrus based fruit flavor for my clearomizers.

All produce great vapor (I use 100% VG only) and taste, so favorite for me really depends on my mood for what I feel like having, and where I am. (I use the PV at home, I use the ego style when out) ;)
