I actually like most of the clearomizers and cartomizer that I've used so far:

clearos: iclear16, 30 & 30S, Kanger Protank2 and PT2 mini, & Vivi Nova
cartos: Smoktech dual coil, single coil, Boge and various short, tankless cartos.

I think they all have their good points and bad, its really how you use them in combination with various juices and devices. For example, I can crank up the wattage and get very rich flavor and warm vape with the iclear30 series, but wouldn't do the same with the Protank2. I can run the Protank 2 off a VV ego battery and have a very crisp, cool tasting vape, but that wouldn't work so well with the iclear30-s.

I can change the draw resistance with all the devices using various plinths, drip tips and/or orings; everything is really customizable to your preference.

I like a mix of fruit/mint for my dripper carto's, sweeter fruit flavors in my cartomizers and a more citrus based fruit flavor for my clearomizers.

All produce great vapor (I use 100% VG only) and taste, so favorite for me really depends on my mood for what I feel like having, and where I am. (I use the PV at home, I use the ego style when out) ;)

You have answered most of my questions already. I intend on getting a couple of Kanger mini PT2 V2 tanks and will look at 650 mah batteries to keep it compact. I like a cool draw so I ask you, in your opinion is variable voltage that important for me?

Thanks in advance for any opinions.

If you want to keep it compact, I would recommend the new Protank2 Mini: Kanger Mini ProTank II w/ Removable Drip Tip

Otherwise, it will look like the setup on the far left:

A pretty good 650 mah battery if you don't want a twist battery: Joye eGo-C Upgrade Battery, Joyetech eGo C Upgrade battery, eGo-C Upgrade battery

There are plenty of 650Mah available in stock. Stainless will look very nice with the mini PT2. These are not the pass-through versions though, so there will be some downtime during your re-charging. (I used to have a pass-through version but I forgot where I purchased it from)

I cannot vape out of a plastic tank now. Plastic tanks really taste bad to me now.

In order of what I like - this is truly my personal opinion though. I don't care if you agree.

Davide Protanks Mini and Full sized tanks my go to tanks. Davides are my favorite tanks right now.
Kangertech Full sized Protank 1 and Kangertech Mini Protank 2 (removable drip tip and glass)
Kangertech Mini Protank 1.5 (non removable drip tip removable glass) then the mini protank 1
Kangertech Full size Protank 2. I have one I haven't used it. The ones I have tried my family members use are ok.
I don't have a Kangertech UniTank but I would own one if they were glass. I like the way they look.

I personally don't like the look of the Kangertech Full sized Protank 2. Honestly why didn't they make the Full size Protank 2 look more like the Mini Protank 2? Why didnt it look like the old Full size Protank and have removable drip tip and glass. I know its a silly thing but doubt the performance is better than the Davide tanks.

I have Vivis and I have Carto tanks but this is my preference. I am waiting on V3s (RDA-RBA) to come in the mail. I doubt I will change my mind the V3s are just to test juice and way too messy and fiddly for much else.

OK, I think I get it... this tank?
Madvapers Canada Kanger Protabk 2, e cigarette accessory
The border guards in Kanuckistan (Customs Canada) are too nasty to become TSA Airport Security so ordering from Canadian soil makes life way easier.

My favorite (currently) is the Iclear30,,,,,,,,great taste, lots of vapor (dual coils),,,,,,,,it's plastic, but I don't vape crackers, so that's no biggie for me,,,,,,,the heads are easy to replace (but not easy to rebuild, if that's important to you),,,,,,

I also like Vivi Novas, but the vapor production is a bit disappointing after the Iclear30,,,,,,,,it was perfect for me until I tried the Iclear30 though  Easier to rebuild the coils, too, if you're into that (I'm not)
