What temperature does PG break down at?

I have been trying to find out at what temperature propylene glycol denatures (breaks down), as I know that one of the arguments against e cigs is something to do with the compounds that might be produced when the PG in e liquid breaks down.

As far as I can find out propylene glycol does not break down at temperatures under 120C (240F) and e liquid vapourises at around 40-60 C, so if that is the case, then unless some e cigs heat to a higher than necessary temperature, PG should not be breaking down into these compounds when we vape.

Can anyone confirm that the temperatures I have been informed about are correct, or have any more info on this subject?
