I'm still looking for the perfect carto. I know as this industry evolves something like this is bound to come along.
My perfect carto would hold 2ML of juice with plenty of head room so that the juice won't make it's way down into the center tube. I say 2ML of juice because I like darker juices, and the darker the juice, the quicker I have to clean the coil of the sugars and junk that burn onto the coil, causing loss of vapor and a burned taste. So far, on the CE2/CE2XL that I use, it seems that the wick looses some of it's wicking ability the longer they are saturated in the dark juice. Seems like the juice builds up onto the wick and kind of "globs" it up, if that makes sense.
The perfect carto would have a coil that was replaceable in and of itself, without having to use a syringe to remove the current liquid, wash all parts with hot water, pat dry, do a dry burn, reassemble, put juice back into carto, then continue. What a hassle!! I have a 5ML MAP tank that can only use about 2ML of juice before I have to clean the coil. The idea of having a goodly amount of juice sitting on top of my PV is good in theory but not in practice.
Could a coil be made out of a material that acted like teflon, in that nothing could stick to it, thus no residue forming on the coli, and leading to the above mentioned cleaning? I understand that the wick aids in this sticking of gunk to the coil, as the coil burns the juice into/onto the wick itself where the coil is wrapped around the wick.
I understand that cartos are meant to be disposable, what I am referring to is a system whereby the only disposable part would be a coil that failed, not one covered in gunk. My perfect carto would not even have a wick, thus one less part to gunk up and need cleaning.
Just some thoughts....
