What to buy now??

OK, so I’ve done a lot of research on the site, but still haven’t been able to find the answer to my three biggest questions.
First off i purchased a No 7 kit ( i didn’t do any research first) with 2 batteries, its the 2 piece setup, after going through all the "cartomizers" that it came with, i decided to try the DIY style to save some money. I purchased the atomizer adapter for doing DIY (i think), then also purchased the cheap feeling plastic tip, with a little "sponge" inside. I also purchased a bottle of Menthol Drops....

First Question
Should this "e-liquid" taste like pure oil when smoked... so nasty my wife couldn’t even take a second kit, i tried to smoke it and just felt like i should slosh vegetable oil around in my mouth.

Second Question
Is there another kind of "tip" out there that i can put with the no 7 and the atomizer i purchased that won’t feel or look like cheap plastic.

Third Question
I think i might be in the market for another PV soon, and was wondering if there was something out there that would meet my qualifications as the perfect PV.
Qualifications:
Able to use Drops
Has a good "feeling" "mouth piece"
Decent Battery Life
Holds a decent amount of e-liquid
Is able to be used with a pass through (i mostly smoke in the car, or at the computer)
Really that’s all i need it to do, i don’t want to spend a fortune, I’m already out almost 200 trying to get this no 7 setup working right....

Unfortunately I think you bought one of those crap kits that are designed to rip people off.

1) Nope, it shouldn't taste like that at all. I personally have never tasted an e-liquid that tasted like oil. Probably had some leaking issues as well

2) Not sure what threading the no 7 has. So, I honestly can't answer that question for you.

3) You can try the ego passthrough. It can also be detached and used by itself. I will also suggest you get some XL cartomizers that can hold 2ml of juice such as the 1.7 smoketechs/resurrectors:

No idea what a No 7 is. DIY juice probably requires some know-how to do correctly, I would just buy some good juice. An ego or riva kit with a passthrough battery would be pretty cheap and would come with atomizers and cartridges you use for dripping. There are drip tips you can use that make for a comfortable experience.

Never heard of No 7 what company is that from? If you want easy two piece analog like where you can use juice and also buy a USB pass thru I'd go for Smokeless Image's Volt. When you say good battery life a small device is going to give two-four hours max if you are a light to moderate vaper. Sounds like the juice you bought is too strong. If you DIYed it you probably made it too strong. I've heard menthol drops are pretty potent.

Many questions you have but we may need a little more input from you.

No idea what a no 7 is. Could you post a link to where you purchased it so I can have a look.

No ejuice should taste like oil. Oil shouln't be smoked imo.

By indicating you has spent so much money already, I'm afraid to tell you that you could have spent less about half and gotten a whole lot of stuff that works.

I would look at ego passthroughs, simply because you can plug them into your vehicle's cig lighter(using a usb charging cable) and then when you are out of your car you unplug it and it still works like a reg ego battery.

Can you post a link now, before going much further?

First, welcome to ECF!!
Although I am not familiar with the #7, my first thought is that you may need to get a new setup; one that is satisfactory. An ego pasthrough might be your best bet. If it is a 510 connection; it can be used with cartos that are easy to refill or a tank that will hold a day's worth of liquid. You can get an ego pt inexpensively. Also if you get an inexpensive delrin drip tip, refilling is easy.
Liquids should not taste like oil, and if it does, I would toss it. There are many e-liquid suppliers on this forum that sell quality juices. It does take some trial & error to find the juice for you, but quality is the #1 key.
I am sorry you have had a tough start, but keep trying.

DIY juice requires 3 main ingrediants. Nicotine base, VG/PG Dilutant for the base (unles you purchase nicotine at a vapable mg), and flavoring. On a general rule of thumb the nic base and your pg/vg should be 80-90% of the total liquid, with flavor making up the remainder. You didnt give much of an idea as to what you did to make your juice, i think a further explanation would help a lot.

Yup, that's a rip off kit. There's no way in hell that one cartomizer will equal 25-30 cigs. Realistically, one cartomizer might last as long as one or two cigs at the most. Or if your lucky. Your going to have to piece your kit together to get the best performance and vape.

There are a few links that have been posted to get your started. Liberty Flights has great deals on kits while CCV has great deals on cartos. You'll have to get your e-liquid elsewhere. I would look at the suppliers here on the ECF but, here's my go to vendors to help you start. Just get some small samplers:

I use the smoktech dual coil cartos on it, and I have used one for 3 weeks just adding juice as needed. Some people may recommend other cartos, but whichever you decide on, if you get the eGo passthrough, make sure you get some cartos, and probably an atomizer, for testing juices, and a drip tip, as it only comes with the passthrough and cord.
