I've been vaping like mad my iatty (this applies to Ody too) recently and in the last few days noticed a change in taste of my daily juice. I had the idea of giving my ceramic a burn like we used to do for the first issue of the Ody ceramics. I put it on a wire and had it under the blue gas flame for about 30-40 sec. It turned brilliant white and I let it cool down and made a new coil and wick.
The results are amazing, taste improved immensely immediately. Will burn my Ody ceramics too once a month from now on and highly recommend you try this if you've been using your Ody/Iatty heavily.

No problem. I started that because back in the day when I was burning Nextel I could actually taste the torch on the wick after a good burn. It also dries fast so no waiting like with water. Cheap Vodka has no taste and is like 11 bucks for a 1.75 works great for cleaning dipping wicks ceramics ect and is an excelent emergency pain relief tool LOL.

Great tip. I tend to sonic clean my ceramic a couple times a week and torch it every 2-3 weeks. I also slcahol dip the ceramic after burning so any residual gas is washed off.

Good routine. If you've got a REALLY nasty ceramic, first ultasonic it in household ammonia. It cuts through to clean where alcohol won't. Then, rinse, alcohol rinse, dry, etc. to get rid of all the cleaning liquids.

Genius steve! Desperately gotta clean my iatty's ceramic, it's tasting a little funk right now, and I know it's not the juice or the coil :/

I clean my parts every time I make a new coil keighles but I still got a taste change after a while so it seems that your ceramic doesn't need to be full of gunk to get a taste change. I'm gonna burn all my ceramics once a month from now on.
The iatty ceramic I think is even more susceptible to this problem as it's got a small channel inside around the air hole which tends to capture juice residues

Lol... Yesterday I read this thread and decided to do a burn of my ceramic. Took my Ody apart, put in a new ceramic, reassembled, and proceeded to burn the old one. As I was placing the old ceramic on a block of aluminum on my desk, I slipped and it fell into my briefcase/camera bag (a Tenba Messenger - medium). The ceramic was hot so it meted a hole straight through four layers of Nylon and two layers of medium density urethane foam. I had to grab it with pliers!

I redid the burn, but now I have a hole in my case!

while I was reading your post I thought that the result would be a burned camera part! Hopefully it was only the case Tg.

I hate when that happens...at least it was just the case. Minimal damage.
