What to do with old batteries

So, I have a few IMR batteries that have ripped liners. I've stopped using them, but now they just sit around as clutter. What do you guys do with your old batteries? I feel like they shouldn't be thrown in the trash. Is there anywhere you can take them to get recycled? And is there anywhere you can take them where they pay you for recycling them? Just wondering what you guys do with your beat batteries.

I ha the same thought just yesterday man I'm assuming just recycle them at a local waste disposal center like u do with laptops tvs and what not

You can take them to Home Depot or Radio Shack. Both have Battery Recycle programs

Johnny is correct. Look up those types of facilities in your area and dispose of them there. They are NOT supposed to be thrown in the trash with last nights dinner.

Yes, it just seems like a hassle for $10 batteries that I've already replaced anyway.

It is better for the enviroment if you dont put it in trash. I think that every store with computers or TV-s have a box or should have a box where you can put old batteries.

I would rewrap them. You can never have enough batteries that still function and tossing a battery that still works when all it needs is a new wrapper to keep it from shorting seems like a total waste.

Rewrap them and carry on using them. That's what I do.
