New vaper about a month now. I have been using a 50/50 pg to vg mix. I am thinking about switching to a 20 pg 80 vg mix. My goal is to produce more vapor. How much of a reduction in flavor can i expect?
It really depends. If your juice vendor offers extra flavor shots then maybe add one to offset the change. Also keep in mind that vg doesn't wick as quickly and tends to be gunkier so adjust your wicking set up accordingly.
PG gives more throat hit, VG more vapor (cloud). I find PG too rough for my taste, so I limit it as much as possible. I can't really say I've ever noticed a difference in flavor, so hopefully someone more learned than me will chime in with their expertise...
Can't see where any flavor loss would occur. The recipes are more likely to be adjusted to the base liquid used. Now TH and vapor will change as already mentioned but this could give the flavor a different "kick", meaning the lack of TH may be mistaken for loss in flavor. This hobby/obsession is truly an experimental one, take stuff for a "test drive" and see how you like it and if it suits you, stick with it, otherwise move on to the next experiment.
You'll find that there are vendors out there who make 100% VG liquids that can beat the pants off of many PG liquids, flavor-wise. Please realize, however, that taste is a subjective thing. Personally, I prefer VG because it tends to be a smoother draw and less throat hit than PG.
