So, I wanted to post this in 'Ask the Veterans' and still may but I cannot post in that forum yet (I got my 5 post count). Maybe it just takes time but if anyone knows what else I need to do to unlock that forum let me know.

My main question is what should I get while I wait for the Zenesis to get restocked and while I play the lotto to actually grab one when they are in stock?

I've seen lots of other stuff and finally settled on the Zenesis but it seems like it might be a long time before I actually am able to get one.

Excerpt from the Vaper's Handbook (link is found below in my signature):

Q30: Should I get a Genesis style atomizer?

A30: The quick answer is maybe. They have some real drawbacks so let's start with those first. For one, they are truly and utterly expensive. $150 is a common price. You're going to have to sit on a waiting list for 6 months or more too because the supply does not meet the demand. It is possible to get them in the ECF classifieds used, so that is an option. The Zenesis variety (made by Zen, a variation of the Genesis atomizer = Zenesis) is made of superior materials such as surgical stainless steel with a crushed quartz tank. He claims he is not making money off of them, I leave that judgement up to you. On top of that they are extremely hard to rebuild and the learning curve is vast. Once you get it down to a science it's not bad at all, but the difficulty in doing so may frustrate you back to relying on other atomizers and questioning your investment. They also do not come assembled by any means so if you want something that works out of the box you've got another thing coming.

So what's so good about them that would make people want to wade through a sea of discouragement? Flavor. They are commonly accepted as having the best flavor ever IF you get it right. The stainless steel wick doesn't interfere as much with the flavoring like polyfill or the wicks you find on CE style clearomizers (which often clog, could potentially be harmful to you, and filter out the flavor and ruin your juice as they clog up over time). Many people do report an iron/steel taste that goes along with vaping from a metal wick. The other positive is they are cheap to rebuild so you can eventually pay it off in savings (which you could also do with CE clearos and for a cheaper startup). Also note that if you get one and you hate it and you sell it for more than you paid for it that Zenesis will cut you off completely and never allow you to purchase any more of his products.

So for the price and with all the negatives versus only two positives my personal opinion is that they aren't worth it. I am not alone in this belief, but to clarify my position I will bring in a video from my buddy Estarra who owns the Zenesis Z Atty Pro:

So, before you go jumping on the list, if you are dead set on getting one let me suggest that you try building an inexpensive one on your own to try it out first before you take the plunge, and spend a lot of money doing it, on something you may hate. For this I will call upon PV guru Steeljan:
