And the draw could be too much, causing damage to the battery, which could cause it to fail much earlier.

I guess it kills the life of the battery and the atomizer faster than it should.
Well, if that's all I have to worry about...

I have about 30 extra manual 510 batteries that I bought about 8 months ago that I keep in the freezer, and I haven't even used up the ones that came with my starter kit yet.

I don't even really use them much anymore since I got my Chuck. Maybe once a week.

So maybe I will just go for it and be the guinea pig to provide feedback on exactly what they REALLY do to your 510 stock batteries.

I'm a bit surprised at the results of the poll so far, I thought that people would be using 6V a lot more considering that this is a high voltage capable device. I've been using 6V and all my juices taste really good with 6V.

Also, I'm surprised that I didn't need to change my 6V batteries for 2 days now, considering it's 6V i thought that the battery life would be shorter (a day at best). Maybe I'm on crack and I forgot that I changed the batteries :).

burkett, its prob not ur switch, prob the middle post on atty heats up n slips...find the thread "if you have an atty that works on one device, but not another..." there you will find a resolution to that annoying off n on routine some attys like to play on us ;)

IMO, the Chucks vape so strong, I use 6v as a treat or for those "nothing does it" days and find a good 18650 with a regular 510 atty is strong enough for the Chuck. Most all other devices require 5-6v for me though...

TRUST me, no complaints, just goes to show how much of a beast the Chucks really are!

It's not a high voltage capable device for all of us. I have a Little Chuck. ;)

crashtestjeep, thanks for the tip, and I'll check it out. Right now though, I haven't been using that atty since I got my mega cartomizers, and they have quickly become my new favorite :)

poeia, I'm sure there are a lot of Little Chuck owners out there, I always assumed that those were people who also have a regular Chuck. I guess I was wrong. The custom graphics are awesome but more than anything I wanted the high voltage experience.

I have no interest in hv vaping. I wanted a mod because I was tired of changing batteries every 5 minutes. I love how the Little Chuck fits in my hand -- I can cover everything but the end caps which makes it perfect for me to play with. I can comfortably hold it in just about any position. Despite that, if I had to do it again, I might have bought a Big Chuck for the 18650 batts (gotta love the mAh on those.) I don't care about throat hit at all, just flavor and vapor, so I doubt I would have used the higher voltage.

Definitely, I hated changing batteries so damn often as well. That's why I had the Tornado. Of course, the Little Chuck still triumphs over the Tornado in terms of power and battery life.

However, I do really care about TH, as it helps me with the satisfaction and simulation of smoking. I usually vape 12 mg liquids. and thanks to the 12 mg, I only vape about 1 mL per day, which in this case would mean I'm taking in a half a pack a days worth of nicotine. I also have a few 24 mg liquids, and the TH makes a HUGE difference. In any case, I'd like to decrease my nicotine content over time, and I believe the Chuck can help me get there.

I don't know how many of you have a 901 connecter on your Chucks but a 5.2 ohm HR 901 atty at 6V is amazing. I've got a copper body mod of my own making that uses the same batts as my chuck (so it works the same) with the 510 connecter and some HR 510 attys and the flavor just isn't there with the 510 compared to the 901.
Sooo... 901 HR @ 6V all the way!

I think this thread was supposed to help me, but just leaves me more confused. LOL.

I'm a moded 510 user (i built the battery box one for my 510 atmoizer)I'm thinking of getting the little chuck and want to re-up my atomizers and carts so i have those sitting there upon arrival of my chuck. I'm still confused on what LR means. Can you help a brother out. Oh, and what kind of turn around is it from ordering and receiving?

LR = Low Resistance

Meaning in my own personal opinion, anything less than 2 ohms.

Usually LR atties will be 1.5-1.8 ohm resistance, which allows you to produce a higher wattage, getting you closer to the sweet spot without having to have over 3.7volt batteries.

Anything over 3.7 on an LR is overkill imo. So if you ordered a little chuck, you could get the IMR high drain batteries, with a low resistance 510 atty, and you'd be simulating 5v at the best point in the sweet spot at just over 9 Watts.

Drozd laid it down in the battery thread, basically 8-12W is where you want to be as far as the "sweet spot" where vaping tastes and produces best without burning or requiring a 5+ sec draw time to get vapor. You can calculate on the fly as long as you know your atomizer's resistance and the output your batteries are capable of. Basically volts squared divided by resistance equals watts.

So 3.7 x 3.7 = 13.69 / 1.5 = 9.12 Watts.
Even at 1.7Ω resistance, you're still getting 8.05 W which is just over the cusp of where the best production starts. Either way this is an ideal solution for those who really like the sweet spot, I urge you to try it and see how it treats you, if you don't like it you can always go to regular atomizers, or even cartomizers.

Hope this helped.

Oh, edit: Also, the reason I used the IMR batteries for reference is they have the best chance of not being overworked and get damaged when using LR atomizers. I prefer AW but I'm not a battery guru, I just go by what I learned from Drozd who knows his stuff.

The advantage to a LC is how it fits in your hand. It feels great. Wonderful 3.7v vaping. The 16340 LiMN batteries (AW) are 550mAh and the 18350 protected ones (Ultrafire) are 1,200mAh.

The big Chuck uses an 18650 for 3.7v vaping. You can get a LiMN version that's 1,600mAh and the protected Li-ion ones run from 2,200-3,000mAh. In addition, if you want to try 6v vaping, the big Chuck can do it but the big one is 50% longer than the little one (4.5" vs 3")

So the decision comes down to:
Compact - Little Chuck
Bigger, longer battery life and 6v vaping - Big Chuck

I don't know which factors matter to you.

All this battery/voltage stuff gives me a headache. I made it really simple, just ordered what drozd said was best! LOL!

I love my six volts with this tasty vapor baked stuff. Prior I was a halo torque only vapor but that is only good at 3.7 imo. I don't notice a bigger throat hit but I like the warmer vapor, that is for sure.

I have both Chucks..big n lil. LOVE them both. Which do I use most? BOTH! I use the lil guy when Im out n about for short periods of time or while driving but the big guy comes in when I want a guarantee I wont need to change a battery for a few days....

I started w a lil chuck. and I still use my lik chucks all the time! I admit the vapor experience all around is slighty better with the 18650 batt in big chuck, but the lil chuck is quite the beast! BEST 3.7v vape around! :)
