I'm wondering if anyone can either point me to a summary list or if I could get some feedback on what voltages to vape at for different resistance cartos/atty.

Right now I have a few different products and my Provari is coming in the mail tomorrow.

I know it will vary a little bit, but I'm trying to save myself a little headache.

I currently have a Liquinator which uses Boge 510 SR carts - 3.0ohm

CE2 Clearomizers 2.4-2.6ohm

CE2 Clearomizers 2.8-3.0ohm

I was also looking at purchasing some slotted dual coils which are 1.5ohm (which from my understanding actually draws 3ohm)

Thanks in advance.

Also, a if someone makes a seperate post with a list of recommended ranges based on the resistance it woudl make a great sticky.

OK, I got it now

Apples x Oranges / Kittens = Ice Cream

I'm just wondering what voltage to set my provari at for the different cartos.

Well, that's up to you. That's the whole point of having variable voltage. If you're enjoying the vape, there is no wrong setting.

Lol,

I know that, I'm just wondering if there are general ranges that people seem to get better results on with the various resistance of cartos.

in my experiences, youd want to choose the highest green block for your particilar resistance, the block just to the left of the red block in that row.

for example, for your 3.0 ohm cartos, id go with 5v, maybe a little less depending on the juice. for your clearos, 4.5 and 4.75 volts respectively might be a good place to vape at, possibly lower. adjust for personal taste.

Different juices, different needs for heat or Throat hit. Everyone is going to have a different setting.

Your best bet is to start at the 3.7volt setting and work up or down from there.

Most people vape in the 6-9 watt range. Many find their sweet spot at 8 watts. To get that output, your 3.0ohm carto would need 5 volts, your 2.6ohm clearo would need 4.6 volts, etc.

But play with the button more than the numbers, carto ohms fluctuate from manufacturer to manufacturer and box to box.

Personal preference and all I prefer a cooler vape and use the ohms plus 1 as a starting point and adjust upwards as needed I hate a dry throat hit and would just as soon adjust up instead of down.
Examples 2.7ohm+1=3.7volt starting point 3.0ohm+1=4volt starting point
I think this comes out pretty close to the low end of the green chart and no need for a chart.

If you want a really safe bet (and I mean REALLY safe.... like a little too safe, even, so feel free to push this a bit) you can get a VERY good idea of what's safe (and conservative) for 1.25, 1.5, 2, 3, 4 ohm cartos and attys by looking at phil busardos awesome (but long!) review of the lava tube. And yes, I understand that the provari is NOTHING like the lava tube... I think its restricted down a whole amp lower, or something crazy. BUT for a beginner who doesn't want to fry stuff, It'll give you a general idea. I certainly learned a lot about ohms and voltage watching it. He charts out exactly how high of voltage a Lava tube will take it on each of those resistances. I've never seen anything similar worked up for provari. So again, you can be very confident pushing these numbers quite a bit. But if it shows on the chart that a 1.5ohm atty only actually delivers up to 4.5v, I wouldn't fire that puppy up all the way at 6v. Just will give you a very general idea of how stuff works, and if you're a super cautious person and want to make 100% sure you'll never kill anything, you're certainly safe with those numbers. ;)
Its at his site www.tasteyourjuice.com...lemme grab you a full link. BTW, you'll see very clearly when he starts explaining the charts... i think its mid video, so if you wanna fast forward till there you should get the idea.

Taste Your Juice | VZ VV Tube Mod (AKA Lavatube) Full vs. Mini – Vaping Zone

and if anyone has a better chart for provari, maybe they'll pop in and offer it. ;)

While not a Provari I started using a variable voltage mod a couple of days ago.

First thing to remember is that the Provari won't actually let you set up the device to damage your atty or carto. Useful feature as the dead attys in my bin will attest to.

As suggested start low and work your way up the voltages and enjoy the ride. Each juice and atty/carto combination seems different. Through reading I think it is different for everyone.

Wouldn't worry too much. After an hour or so of this mod being in your hand you will be in a nic haze with a daft grin with every juice you own scattered around you.

Its all good ;-)

I use a little under 2 volts more than carto resistance for my starting point. This gives you around 7 watts. 1.7 ohm I vape @ ~3.6 volts, the 3.0 ohms I start @ ~4.9. Dual coils need more to get watts per coil up to make vapor. I usually give them +2.7 volts over resistance. 1.5 ohms I would do 4.2 volts (but I have a v1 so I dont buy these) 2.0 I start @ 4.7 and adjust from there....

V
---- = Ohms Law
I R

IE : V = I*R
I = V/R
R = V/I
P = I * V = watts

So the most simple method to get 8 watts is to multiply the resistance by 8 and get the square root of this.
This answer would be the best voltage to use for 8 watts.
Simple with a cheap calculator.

ie 2.5ohm times 8 = 20
square root = 4.47 volts

Or 3 ohm atty:
3 * 8 = 24
square root of 24 = 4.9 volts and so on.

The above post only applies for single coils not dual coils.

But dont forget. "Apples x Oranges / Kittens = Ice Cream" lol.. just messin.

Personally I'm not too worried about the math. Slap a 3.0 Boge on there and mess around till it tastes great! That's part of the fun.
