Hey everyone. Still pretty new to the world of vaping but I have been a carto tank user on just a Bolt. I received my zmax today and I have an ohm's law chart that I found on Grimms website and I was curious if that applies to LR atty's too. If it does not what do you guys think a good recommended voltage is for a LR 1.8 ohm atty? I know I could just switch to watts but out of curiosity I was just wondering. Hope everyone has a great day and happy vaping.

The general rule of thumb I keep reading is take the ohm's and add 2 to get the voltage close. So 1.8+2=3.8. But again, like everything, it's a matter of taste! I'm running a 1.6 ohm dual coil at 4.3v right now, so it really is up to the taste you like.

True, true, true. But a lot of people new to vaping don't understand the difference between single coil and dual coil. They only see "1.6 ohms at 4.3v" and then wonder why it tastes burnt.

Thanks everyone that replied! So pretty much what I've concluded from this is it's all based off taste and the taste you like, so there really is no "set" voltage you would choose. Would that be a fair conclusion? And yes it is very nice with the vv option!

Pretty much, within a range. You've got a chart for that tho. Generally its advised to start low and work up - prevents any nasty coil blow outs.

I wasn't trying to say it's for everyone! Other times I'll drop down to 3.5v with the same set up, it's just the mood I'm in, I set it for that. Right now I'm in a lot of pain, so I cranked it up! Yes, there is a BIG difference between single and dual coil atty's in the way they work.

I'm sorry you're not feeling well :(

Everyone certainly has their own sweet spot(s). My comment was just pointing out that 1.6Ω dual coil at 4.3v and 1.6Ω single coil at 4.3v are two different critters.

It's all good, I've had two and a half years to get as used to it as you can. Some days are good, some are bad, the last few have been bad!

I know what you meant! I wasn't trying to argue, but rather trying to accentuate your point!

first off, totally surprised no one threw this up here yet:

secondly, why not just set the Zmax to VW as opposed to VV?

Another good thing to understand is that if you are using cartos don't assume that your actually getting what they say are as far as ohms are concerned a Boge 3.0 SR carto will sometimes actually read 2.6 -3.0 ohm. Also when a carto degrades from usage the ohms usually drop a bit as well(just my observations). There are just too many variables to pin down a so called "sweet spot" in my personal opinion. The only mod I own that I have been able to kinda pin my sweet spot down on is my DNA mod, but even that needs to be fiddled with sometimes lol.
