My first Sweedish snus was ettan, I loved it then and I love it now. My first Snus was Camel and I thought it was MEH with very little nic hit at all.
What was your first Snus and what did you think of it?

camel snus frost love it!! i started vaping march of last year quit smoking dec 09 and i use frost and my xhaler only now!
Camel frost. Did very little as far as nic, and tasted way too sweet. But I saw the potential in Swedish snus, got a can of General portions and haven't looked back since.
Camel Mellow
Hmmm tasty, nicotine, mebbe.
Hmmm not tasty after 20 minutes or so. Bitter foul...
Very sweet, did manage to keep the cig craving at bay and it got me curious enough to pursue snus.
First Swedish Snus, General Ekstra Sterk. Ooops. Just a bit much in that one lol.

Camel Mellow after about 3 weeks of vaping... Found the Smokeless subforum and ordered the General sampler pack. My first Swedish was General OP (shudder). Tried Mini Mint and it's been off to the races since then.
Thunder Frosted mini. The only mini I know of with 8 mg nic. Thought it would burn a hole in my mouth, but after a few minutes I actually felt really good, and the taste mellowed considerably. Still my go to morning snus: makes me forget I ever wanted a cig and clears my sinuses

B) WOW, this kicks my craving WAY MORE than my PV
I did look into Swedish Snus however because:
A) Studies have been done on Swedish Snus
B) They are cheaper
C) I don't trust BT so who knows what is really in their Snus
I have to say while the Swedish were as good at curbing my cravings I just much preferred the flavor of the Camel Mellows but don't really use them because again: God Knows what BT is putting in them.
If/when studies are done on the Camel Snus and I find out they aren't putting 4,000 chemicals in them I may go back to using them because I really think a Snus cannot be beat for those tough cravings.

Camel Mellow....2 sweet, 2 portions and I gave the rest away, no noticeable nicotine. Next up was Marlboro. Now that one I liked and did sense a slight amount of nic, but to try and continue using it was akin to the cost of smokes. Enter Swedish Match General....didn't like the taste, but was blown away..............
Marb snu, Peppermint. I tried it just the other day.
And I still haven't recovered. I stuck one in my mouth and walked into Walgreen's to do some shopping. Less then two minutes later I was running, not walking, out. Made a bee line for my car, spit the thing out and rinsed my mouth with the only thing I had...Diet Pepsi.
And rinsed.

And rinsed.

And spit.
I don't know what was worse, the hiccups or the nausea. Or maybe it was going diaphoretic while it was a chilly 45 and windy outside.

Alright, well this will be almost embarrassing. The above was the first-ever snus I tried (out of the variety I ordered in Jan., prior to my recent large Discreet order). Popped it in my mouth (back by molars, not knowing the diff at that time) while also vaping, but only my usual 11mg. Can't recall if using HV at the time or not. Was not at all apprehensive, not even all that curious at that point about how it would go. But kapow! Racing heart, lightheaded, shakey, etc. Still was not particularly worried (and don't have any health conditions that could make it seem more worrisome or anything), but decided to help take the wind out of it with a 5mg Valium under the tongue.
Suppose it would have passed soon enough on its own anyway (and I had removed the mini from my mouth already of course). But I was visiting my parents and on my way down to dinner, so didn't want to seem all wound up, which also makes it harder to keep certain opinions to myself hehe.
I didn't write the Thunder Frosted minis off, but so far when tried again I haven't toughed it out through the initial burn Katya mentioned. Have a feeling all this would/will get 'better' in time, but hmmm, not sure if it's something I should be working on if I continue to like the Discreet well enough. (Do have some General minis too, don't really recall what I thought when tried back in Jan., need to revisit them.) Oh, I was also getting hiccups every time at first, no matter which snus I was dabbling in, but changing placement towards front of mouth seems to have helped a lot with that.
Um, this will be gross but... if for whatever reason one has to remove a snus a few minutes after putting it in their mouth, is it ok to blot it and then resume using a bit later?
Sure...waste not, want not and all. Thunder Huh? Yep, especially in the rear above the molars...yep, you got the nic pretty fast. If you're happy with the effects of the Discreet then look no further. The Mini Mints will probably be good for your soul, too. Probably a little more potent than the Discreet, but not enough cause any distress .

XQs Cappuccino. No longer made. That was four years ago, and XQs had 1.5mg of nicotine. That's correct. 1.5mg.
They tasted fantastic, however, and I kept one in my mouth every waking hour.
Then I moved up .. and UP. Nick&Johnny, Lucky Strike, Ettan, Swedish Camel (a far different beast from Camel in America), 1847, Pall Mall .. you name it, I've tried it. Presently, I favor General Mini Mint, all Oomph products, all Discreet but regular tobacco flavor and the new Make Your Own Snus that I can flavor the way I want.
I found I really dislike many that I used to tolerate. No Ettan ever again. I've grown to dislike both the smell and taste, which I once found acceptable. Oden's is the worst I've ever tried. Thunder is okay, but over the top.
I want a steady nicotine level similar to what I had with 30 mild cigarettes a day. I'm close to achieving that on many days. A "nicotine kick" now makes me either (1) nauseous or (2) so sleepy I need to take a nap. There is no kick. And I often can't tell 8mg vapor from 48mg vapor. That's true. There is no kick. Just sickness or satisfaction -- and I know which one I want.

My dearest Miss MIA. This is too funny. I guess I didn't make myself perfectly clear (the OP's question was "your first snus"). Yeah, I wasn't able to finish it either, I took it out after maybe 15 minutes, wrapped it a piece of a teabag and saved it for later--in the nifty used-snus pocket on my can. Now I divide the mini into two wrapped portions and I dip my daily allowance quickly in my morning coffee prior to stuffing it under my lip. But I love the quick delivery and the kick of my Frosted Thunder. And I never put it in the back of my mouth first. And I never vape when I snus.
After that, it's my General mints and Fellini, 2-4 a day is plenty

After reading the threads on this forum I drove to the nearest gas station on January day and bought a tin of camel mellow and a tin of camel frost. The mellow was first, eh, then frost eh+burning. My swedish snus came in the mail two days later and I have not looked back. General white mini's were my first swedish snus.
First was Camel Mellow. Meh, kind of so-so. Camel Frost- a little better, but nothing to get excited about. Then I came here and decided to order the sampler. Now I have General in 3 formulas, Thunder Frosted Minis, Fellinni, Discreet and Gotlandssnus in my freezer.
swedish actual swiss was Claq qui. I had had the camel prior but something was off about it...we were a test market..lower lipped it.
The claq to me was deer pee n fruit it slapped me around and left me light.

First I ever tried was camel. I had seen them in the stores for a while, but never thought to use them until I started craving cigs again after vaping for 4 months. I got both kinds, frost and mellow, and tried them both. I thought they were very delicious and continued to use them while I vaped. Reading more on this forum, I decided to give swedish snus a try and ordered 5 cans. My first swedish snus was Oden's classic and OMG it was so gross. I bore through it for an hour, hoping it would get better, but never did. I tried the others I bought and have now settled to a few favorite brands... general mint, jakobson's classic, nick and johnny strong, and lab02. That oden's can is still in my freezer to this day
