I was just sitting here with my vision spinner/protank2 looking at possible upgrades when I saw an advertisement for the BLU ecigs, and remembered that I had actually vaped a few years ago on a friends BLU's at some house party, I thought it was a cool idea but the experience wasn't enough to get me to switch at the time, but I reckon the seed was planted.

Got me curious as to how others got into vaping and what their first experience was like. Did you switch right away, gradually, did you start with a basic vape, was it a friends custom setup, etc, etc.

Look forward to hearing from you!

i bought one of those blu like cigarettes a few years ago and i thought man this thing is garbage . i then bought an ego with clearomizer now like 5 mods latter i am hooked on my vv mod and kayfun. i also have got in the last 6 months everyone in our shop to switch over to digital.

Good work on converting everyone....when you say digital do you mean an advanced personal vaporizer with variable voltage and wattage? If so that's pretty awesome!

two ladies i work with made the switch and told me for a month how great it was. by then i realized how quickly my health was failing and was honest enough to tell myself you aren't going to make til jeremy(my son) graduates next year. i bought a starter kit on a saturday morning and never looked back. that was last august and i am 50 lbs. lighter, energetic and full of hope (not to mention humble and good looking)....

A friend nagged me forever. Finally bought me a Premium starter kit (808 battery set up) I remember smoking watching the battries charge thinking I'm going to hate this. Reluctantly I left the house the next day kit in hand. By the time the day was over I was a confirmed vaper! Moved up a little since, using a reo now :) I'll forever be grateful she kept at me!

I tried an Njoy or something over a year ago and it did nothing for me. A couple guys at work were vaping real mods, and seemed very satisfied with them.

So about a month ago when a new B&M opened up a few miles away, I went and tried out a few flavors. I enjoyed one of the menthol tobaccos, but was blown away by a Fire and Ice blend he had, had a strong kick that I was used to from Seneca menthol cigarettes. I immediately went all in and bought an MVP 2 that day. Haven't smoked since!

Same for me The Blu just didn't give me what I needed The eGo starter did but I still needed a little more vapor so I bought a VV VW device and its been so awesome since then as I have amassed a small collection of Atomizers RDA, RBA, Carto's, recoils and the like. I also Bought the VTR and several Mech mods. My next purchase will be the Dna30 or I may just go all in on the Gi2

I brought one of those cigarette lookalikes with the blue led in the end to start with, as a 35-40 a day smoker (over 30 years it just creeps up and up) it didn't do much at all, I liked the taste but found myself smoking both that and the normal cigs so ended up not using it at all (still in my car as a backup just in case I break my main one).
I then tried the ego but only lasted a bit longer, no idea how to fill it with liquid (didn't even know that was possible at the time) and that one ended up not being used other than a with a nicotine patch when visiting non smoking relatives over the Christmas period. It was still not a replacement for cigarettes for me, only a temporary reprieve until I got to where I could smoke again. Sometimes I even smoked without removing the patch if I could sneak a break for an hour or two between sitting there watching holiday tv, and wishing I was somewhere I could smoke rather than be with my non smoking family.
Finally a friend persuaded me to get a proper one so I recently brought a variable voltage thing, this finally made the difference and I have mostly off cigs for 2 weeks apart from buying a pack of 10 in a weak moment (and regretting it as they tasted bad).

I think (hope) now that I can find a mix to keep me off them for good. Currently I don't plan on giving up, just switching to vaping as a nicer way to get my addiction fed. If I eventually can get off nic by vaping then great but I'm in no rush.

I think looking at vaping as more of a hobby than just a smoking replacement has helped with the transition so far in my latest go at it. So much to learn if you really want to.

Hello my fellow vapers! I had a family member that had quit smoking and was vaping. He introduced me to the e-cig experience. I went to a local vapor store where I live, bought a starter kit (900/510 battery and kanger mt3 tank, some e-liquid) and from the minute I walked out the door of the store I was vaping and have not smoked an analog since. That was Nov 15, 2013. I started with 12 mg nicotine and I am now down to 6 and fixing to start on 3. I make my own liquid and rebuild my coils and the entire experience has been nothing short of a miracle that I have not smoked. I look forward to sharing my take on all that is in my e-cig world and to be free of smelly, nasty cigarettes has been a life change for me.

I had been smoking for about 45 years, and thinking about quitting for about 45 years!:) Around Christmas time, I saw quite a few commercials for the Blu e cigarette and was intrigued by the concept.

On New Year's Day, 2014, I impulsively stopped at my local Walgreen drug and bought a Blu starter kit, came home very excited about it, and started using it. It worked, and I didn't smoke, but charging the tiny batteries drove me crazy, and I was afraid to leave the house for fear it would conk out. I did NOT want to smoke, and I was determined to do this. I limped along with the Blu, not smoking, for a few days.

Then by googling "e cigarette", I found this wonderful forum, and realized there was a whole world of possibilities out there. I read for hours and hours, then went to a local vape shop and got an ego starter kit and 3 bottles of juice. Like a lot of new people, I thought I wanted tobacco flavor, since that's what cigarettes were. The gal there talked me into getting another flavor, too, banana nut bread. I thought it sounded awful, but bought it along with my tobacco flavors.

I came right home, loaded up my ego and was just amazed at the difference between it and the Blu's. I got brave and tried out the banana nut bread, and wow, it was great! Who knew? I liked it so much better than the tobacco flavors, and went back the next day and picked up some other flavors to try.

That was over 3 months ago, and I haven't smoked a cigarette, or wanted to, since I got the Blu to start with on New Year's Day.:)

I bought a cigalike from a gas station and it caused a terrible burning sensation in my throat and I didn't even go through more than a single cartridge, then about a year later my brother bought a Vamo V2, that was better but it still burned my throat too much and I wasn't super impressed, he only used it for a few weeks before it crapped out.
About 6 months later I got a 2 pack of ego-ts and gave one to my brother- we both liked vaping so then I got an Ego-V and he got an Itaste V3 and we have been using those for a few weeks and don't plan on giving up on vaping soon

I guess you could say Groupon coupon gave me my first experience with vaping. It was a good deal and I thought why not give it a try. I wanted to save money because cigarettes where getting so expensive. I really liked it but it didn't take long for me to go for a ego style battery. I kept on vaping and smoking for a good while and it just got to the point where I had cut down so much that the cigarettes started tasting nasty to me. So basically, I accidently quit. The way I transitioned was wonderful because I had no withdrawal symptoms or anxiety issues. It was just a natural process for me. I am amazed everyday with vaping.

Congrats to you and welcome to ecf. I think it is just the best place in the world to be. Glad you are here. :)
