16W+ only works for me.... even upto 26W on my Lavatube it runs perfectly ok... even tho the LT's PCB heat's up a bit!! Haha
But I am just curious at what Watt's you guy's run your DID's on for max flavor.. TH doesn't matter ATM... + my DIY pineapple get's muted on the DID dunno why.. Nova give's a better flavor but DID's give tons of VAPOR.
#500 mesh @ 1.4-1.5Ω

I'm a little curious as to how that you are figuring your wattage as a (EDIT: regulated) mod with a single 18650 has a hard time getting past 12 watts.

2ohm coil at 4v. i believe thats 8 watts. flavor is through the roof. somewhere near the moon.

perhaps your pineapple is getting muted because its too hot. sure sounds like it.

also, it sounds like your battery is going to explode. im no electrical genius, heck i barely even know the basics, but im pretty sure its unsafe to run your batt over 5 or 6 amps. check the C rating to be sure. or not. your call.

You guys are not figuring in the voltage drop when you are calculating your wattage.
Take an actual voltage reading while firing the device and then using Ohm's law calculate it.
You would have to have stacked batteries to achieve that kind of wattage.
I knew I should not said anything about it.

How is that possible? I don't know of any Lavatube that goes about 3.2A so I don't see how you could possibly crank 22watts out of a Lavatube.

6volts on a 1.9ohm coil, 3.157A @ 18.94w is the highest possible wattage combo I can figure without tripping the automatic protection. You do realize that if you go over the amp limit it automatically scales the voltage back without letting you know. There's no error message like a Provari, it just dials it back automatically. I could be wrong here, I just don't see any other possible combo that wouldn't trip the protection unless there is infact a Lavatube out now with an amp limit higher than 3.2.

The V.1 L-rider Lavatubes will let you select a higher voltage than they can put out, but they are limited to 2.5 amps internally. They will fire your device, but will automatically limit the current (without telling you).

I do what Grimm suggests, and just leave the thing set at 6 volts all the time- that way, you're always getting the most out of it...although these days, the modded chrome varitube and my Bolt get most of the non-hybrid action. ;)

Exactly my thinking.

Regarding how I figure out the Volt's
P=V^2/R
36/1.4
It's a new LT chrome YJ style'd one..
Thank's V Ninja for the info.. That must be what's happening.. I wish I could have fired it higher!! But the manual I got with it said it was limited to 4.0 Amps?? And I use NCR 18650B's So no issues regarding input haha :D

The battery can achieve the wattage, But like you mentioned I don't think this device put's consistent voltage when on load.. Ain't got no device to measure that tho...

Yeah, the new young june varitube does have a higher amp limit- and, it tends to fire at a higher voltage than what is displayed on the screen.

That being said, I run my DuD at over 12 watts with 28 gauge kanthal, and it's because Genesis systems are both more efficient AND more powerful- but the combination of the mechanics of the airflow and the conductive properties of the SS mesh, they also require more power to work correctly compared to regular atty's and carto's.
