He concluded his presentation with three words, “Made In China.”

“These are the people (the Chinese) who brought you lead paint in children’s toys, contaminated dog food, diethylene glycol in toothpaste,” he said. “They do not regulate. They don’t care.”

Was that necessary to say? I'm sure that guy has about a million objects in his house made from china...

most of the evidence was dumb and wasn't true (right?)
But hey... it's not like they banned them outside, just inside (right?)

Yes, it's an indoor ban. I think that because Kentucky's cash crop "was" tobacco, that the powers that "wanna" be, are trying to make a loud and clear statement and make themselves look good because of it.

The Dr. that made that comment (Chinese) is a jerk, anyway. Too me, it's just frustrating. I'm overly tired of anyone telling me what I can and cannot have.

I hate to hear that. It makes me wonder what the future holds for our state seeing as how we are one of the biggest tobacco producers in the U.S. There may be a bright spot though. One of our Senator's is actually in favor of the e-cig so I guess I will just have to wait and see what happens. I did send letters and e-mails to our senators and Congressmen letting them know that the e-cig should not be banned and a lot of information for them to read on the benefits of the e-cig. I just hope they will take the time to read it.

I'm right here with you Jazz, I'm in Irvine. Heard about this the other day and I've got to say I was shocked, however not surprised. It's a shame that folks like this think they'll make the public happier doing what they think looks good, opposed to actually being a bit educated on these matters.

I just recently found out there was a policy instated where I work regarding e-cigs indoors, and per our HR department it "looks like smoking". Nothing regarding health/safety/etc... just simply looks like smoking. The part of this that bothers me is they've amended the smoking policy at work to flat out include these as smokes, and rumor has it that within the next year or so we're going tobacco free on company properly. Vaping in your car will be prohibited.

I asked if eating at your desk was going to also be addressed... they didn't like where that question was going.

Tobacco is a cash crop in KY and the nicotine in our e-cigs comes from tobacco, invalid argument.
The board is appointed, not representing the public therefore not qualified to legislate.
Cell phones have not been proven safe either, why have they not been banned.
Private property should be represented by the owner not the government, cigarettes should not be banned indoors unless the proprietor deems so.
Perfume is offensive to some, as well as hazardous to a few people, it has not been banned.
Nuts can cause severe allergic reaction and death, they are not banned from public use, likely they are sold in public area vending machines and one child who drops their payday could potentially kill the next person in that seat.
Nicotine inhalers which produce the same nicotine laden air upon exhalation no mention of them.
I am very pleased to see that our medical professionals are taking medical advice from a monarch, they must be so proud of their education.

I am not saying that everyone should be vaping up Toys R Us, but the arguments of an appointed board designed to consider health effects should not set legal president. We have elected legislative bodies to legally make laws let the board go to them to try to change a law.

We had a 'doctor' stand up at a board meeting and go on for an hour about the dangers of cell phone towers being near people....no facts, mind you....no documentation....just scare tactics.

The real reason - they were getting ready to put one on the property next to his, and he would have to look at it from his breakfast nook each morning.

He lost, and ended up moving....but it's a shame that 'respected' people like that will hide behind their personal agendas.

Add me to the list. Our new county smoking ban goes into effect April 15th. I didn't find e-cigs mentioned - but i know the state wide ban currently being debated does include them.

I'll be honest: I'm ok with them taxing this if it means I can vape. Go ahead. I'm ok with them setting up standards. But for goodness sake, wish they would stop talking out their arrsses about things they don't know about! You can toast to a crisp in a tanning bed. You can smoke bath crystals. (go figure) BUt they're going to protect us from vaping. sigh

Hey KY peeps - check out the BluegrasVapers social group - under the social groups tabs!

The nanny state is getting out of hand. I keep waiting for the tipping point. I'm beginning to worry that the sad truth may be the sheep have now outnumbered the voices of common sense. I guess judging by the article the new worry is second hand nicotine.
I'm way past all these over-regulating political a-holes.
I always find it ironic that my generation, who sung and spoke about freedom in the 1960s, is now futhering the concept of power and control over people's lives.

As soon as the gov figures a way to tax the hell out of e-cigs they all be behind it 100% :(

They can collect 5 or 6% sales tax for products, but when they say they are a "danger" to the kiddies they can charge a 500% tax.

Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely.

Count yourself lucky you could be in Canada. HC is shutting down all our nic suppliers.

We are worried that we will end up with a ban like that too.

E-cigs are already part of the ban at my place of work so I have to take a hike to smoke or vape. Usually I end up smoking simply because it's easier and quicker. The way I look at it, this e-cig ban is making it harder for me to quit analogs.

BUT, I'm not really complaining! I know when our government steps in to 'protect us' things will only get worse.

UnSure, you are On point big time! It's all about how can we get more $$'s out of the masses in order to build our sports stadiums and balance our overspent state budgets we've raped for years and years. Gotta add Big Pharma in this mix also. In the future, it will not surprise me to see ecig kits sitting right next to the nico patches in the Drug Stores. One guess where these Big Pharma kits will be manufactured?

As soon as the gov figures a way to tax the hell out of e-cigs they all be behind it 100% :(

Complain all you want, the only way to fight is to have a big rally with large signs, TV loves a good show with large signs. The general public is not really informed about e-cigs. We were quite when cigs were under the gun and no protest were done as they were banned, they got us down and now are getting ready to stomp on all of us.

Question: what isn't made in china!! Lets just ban 99.999999999% of everything we use.
