I like storing my attys and batts in zip lock bags. I've always wondered if storing them within a plastic bag can hurt them. I just read a thread where a poster mentioned using a desiccant.

My google search comes up with industrial/vendor wholesaler sites. However I haven't found a particular one that specifies using within plastic bags. Any ideas?

Thanks to both of you. Has anyone else that stores attys and/or batts in plastic baggies experienced corrosion on the threads?

Of course I always air dry before storing. The Hello 016 and Egos are stored in the Ego pouch. However I store attys and my standard 510s and 901 batts in plastic baggies.

I also keep new unused attys in their original packaging after I test them to ensure they're not DOA.

you might be better off dipping them in pg after cleaning. then store in the baggie. that way they shouldn't corrode. after all when you buy them they are often dripping with....something. it would help keep the air and moisture off any parts that might rust or corrode.

Yeah I didn't think of VG.

You want them to dry after you cleanse them but you don't want them to get dried out. Ever taste an atty that got too dry?
I soak them, rinse them, blow them out, let them air several hours, dry burn. Then I dribble a few drops of flavorless juice in it, take a few puffs. If it tastes clean I cap it off with a condom from a cartomizer to store. If it doesn't taste fresh I repeat the steps.
You could keep them in bag, a box or whatever.
But I wouldn't leave them near salt, it will corrode the metal, and I wouldn't store them where they continue to get drier. Just my opinion.

Rice is a good natural desiccant. You have to consider that it is organic and can attract pests, but not in short term plastic bag storage. What you are seeing on the threads might just be wear on the gold or chrome plating from constant removal/replacement for charging.

I would think so too...

My mom dropped her cellphone in a pool a while back and stuck it in a jar of rice for a few days to dry it out... voila... probably works for attys as well..
