Definitely, avoid sweetener like the plague. DIY is the answer...i've been making my own exclusively for nearly a year and tbh i'm not really having any gunking problems...well not before the normal clean/change out time anyway.

Commercial liquids have way too much sugar/s in them. It's the same as food the sweeter something is the more people like it :)

The best advice I can give is to start DIY.....it's so much better than....well everything else :)

If you can't build and you can't DIY then you are stuck with the coil life you have.

For MOST DIY (not all) if they go back and try commercially flavored liquids it's like BLEUGH.

For one, I don't use more than 10% flavoring-- ever. Not all my mixes are sweet. If I do use sucralose it's about like one drop per 30 ml type of thing.

Building is nice if you do not want to get into DIY.

Custard is just, well it's thick and sweet, isn't it? I don't expect my sweeter mixes to last as long in my tanks as the ones that aren't. It is what it is.
