If it reads short, the problem is 99% of the time going to be the coil. (try a diff battery first for process of elimination)
Check your build (if you're using a rebuild deck for your subtank)
If it is a rebuildable, obviously make sure your wire isn't touching anywhere on the sidewall.

Also, you should be in the habit of taking your base off your battery when changing your coil. Reason being, subtanks tend to have adjustable contacts (either spring pin or floating pin) and when you don't remove the base, the contact is held in place by the battery contact which sometimes prevents you from fully seating the coil properly.

Other than that, it could be that some gunk, or dirt or whatever has gotten trapped between your tank and battery contact and is shorting it out.
I had a guy come through with a tiny piece of kanthal sitting on his contact once, for example.

The best way to diagnose anything vaporizer related is always process of elimination, but of course that requires that you have access to two of everything. ;)

Thanks for the feedback mate. I believe it to be the subtanks lower base, will have a good look tonight clean, rebuild, etc

Yeah, don't be afraid to remove the bottom pin on the tank and check the gasket for a tear as well. I haven't seen that gasket tear very many times but it can happen.
One thing I've always likes about Atlantic tanks, the firing pin gasket is the same as the gasket for the positive coil contact and are interchangeable.
Oh, and clean the base threading and pin with alcohol.

i have multiple subtanks but one of them need screwed extremely tight on my mod to fire, I also sometimes get the "short" message, what part of the tank is the issue? It isn't the build as I have sapped the coil in to another tank which worked fine?

I'm using ipv4s device

screwing in a topper tight on a mod can typically cause the 'short' message.
It has something to do with the flexible rubber/silicone insulator on the center pin.

It is a problem that happens with fixed centerpin mods.

I've adjusted the mods spring loaded pin up too and still no issue, I can only get it to work with excessive forsce screwing it on the mod, which can't be a good thing?

If the spring loaded mechanism is working properly, you are supposed to have contact before the topper reaches flush; you should not have to overtighten just to make contact

Did that mate swapped them over and still the issue persists with the plus base? It works absolutely perfect on my evic vt???? Scratching my head again!!

Swapped What over?

I'm talking about Dissecting the BASE itself.
sounds to me like the base center contact is to short and not connecting to the HEAD center pin until FORCE is used, pushing it UPWARD

I switched over the brass pins and insulators on all tanks and the plus still had the issue, I have an NI build at .1ohms but as I mentioned the plus Tank works fine on my other mods?

So do you think the base with the airflow itself is the issue? Maybe it has expanded over time and created a gap which I can't physically see?
