What would you do if e-cigs were criminalized in Canada?

Argh can't post polls in the Candian sub-forum...

I was reading that HC thread in here and it got me thinking, what would you do if the government criminalized e-cigs in Canada? Assuming that an underground network of suppliers was formed, but prices were through the roof ($2/ml say), and the risks of importing from the US or overseas suddenly became much greater.

Would you:

A) Purchase items at "black market" prices in Canada
B) Take your chances importing from the US/abroad knowing you have a 50/50 chance of getting them
C) Go back to smoking
D) Quit vaping altogether

A & B as it would still be cheaper then the stinkies which are sure to see more hikes in price as time goes by, plus I like the health perks of ecigs that I've personally experienced and the way it mimics a few things I did enjoy about smoking.

Downfall have to learn to stealth vape, that would be hard as I love those clouds of vapor :)

Why is "FIGHT IT" not on this list????....is that what everyone would do? Sit back and take it when there is NOTHING criminal about vaping?!

Keep in mind that the idea I put forth is a bit extreme, it was just something that I was pondering myself and wondering what others would do if they were faced with a situation where their right to vape was taken away.

Yep DIY'ing would somewhat be out of the question if you can't have access to nic - unless you start growing your own tobacco leaves and extracting the nicotine, a process which I imagine would require a fairly well set up laboratory.

The reason I didn't add "fight it" or "file class action lawsuit" to my list of available options is because even now we're being pushed up against the wall by HC and we're not really doing anything about it besides writing letters, talking about it here, and then there is the mysterious workings of the ECTA.

The idea that people would fight it is laughable. If the Government says it's Criminal, then it becomes Criminal.

In New Brunswick (the one in Canada, not New Jersey Lol) it has been illegal for 10 years or so for people to possess more than 5 cartons of cigarettes, even if they are each bought legally. How crazy is that and how many people fought it?

There are many substances in Canada (or any country, actually) that are illegal and that only seems to ensure that there will be no shortage of them. How many drugs are supposedly stopped at the Border? How's that working out?

It will never happen. It would be an extreme waste of resources by our government, ..could be turned around to make them look bad imposing morality, fear mongering... It would also not pass a charter suit, section 7 & 8. The ban as it stands now would not pass a charter.

If your concerned about the future of e-cigarettes in Canada and your the end user, Don't expect our lovely Canadian distributors to fix anything any time soon. As soon as any government official's direct actions interferes with your personal right, Get off your .... and fight it! It will be the end users that make grounds in the battle
