Wow what's up with that censorship I'm seeing? Someone made a reference to drugs, I'm not sure of the exact word since it's now deleted, we can't do that on here? That is ridiculous. When did they hire a Nazi to moderate this forum?
Looks like people are also spitting on each other as a result. A very strange thread indeed.
So I'll bring us back on topic a bit here I guess. People generally do not understand the word "legal" in its practical sense. Legal only has practical meaning if authorities are both willing and able to take actions to sanction the act in question. So there are no laws against possessing electronic cigarette products in Canada, there are only regulations prohibiting the importation or sale.
So when people use the term "illegal" they tend to use it pretty loosely, and this would be another example. So I'm sitting here at my desk with a PV and ejuice with nic, there's absolutely no law or regulation against that. The person I bought the juice from technically violated HC regulations, but this is not in violation of the law, it is in violation of HC regulations, which isn't the same thing.
So in theory, they could use these regulations to seek to shut down these businesses, which has nothing to do with us unless we are a supplier. If so, well as it turns out they don't seem all that intent on doing that, although there was a time where they did look to send some suppliers some harassing letters, but that was the extent of it.
The other way that this can impact us, as mentioned, is when we look to import juice and have it seized. So instead of having us subject to criminal charges, as would the case if we tried to import illegal drugs such as (censored), juice is not illegal so no criminal charges can be levied. So the stuff just gets seized, as these Nazis have the power to do, but that's it. So you order again, this time it goes through, and you are a happy vaper
Now we are fortunate that the substance in question is one that is freely available, namely nicotine, so it's not that they are in a position to even consider making this a controlled substance like they have done with (censored, censored, censored, and other substances). They could pick up with the harassment of Canadian online vendors but all this would do is drive it underground like it did back then and we'd just have to rely on PMs to discuss who's selling it like we used to.
So anyone who tells you that they are waiting for vaping to be legal here to consider it is woefully confused. We can only hope this day will never come in fact, where we have to go to the drug store and pay $30 for the equivalent of a pack of cigarettes' worth of nicotine, marketed by one of the predatory companies with predatory taxation. This is why I am so outspoken about not lobbying the government to get involved here, we do not need and definitely should not want their help, as they are like the mafia, they will only look to get their cut, and it will be as big as they want, which would be very big indeed.
