For someone who is not addicted to cigarettes and doesn't particularly care for the flavor of them, but occasionally while having some drinks or what not. I have been trying some e-cigs and really like them when drinking. I would like one that produces a good amount of vapor and looks rather like a normal cigarette with a good battery life that can easily be reloaded. Sorry I'm really new and have spent hours looking at all the different kinds and trying to understand the differences and what would suit me best so I figured why not ask for some help.

It would depend on HOW MUCH like a cig you want it to look. You're not going to meet all those requirements with a cig look alike. You can come fairly close with a 510 or 808 XL model but it will be quite a bit longer than a cig. A moderate smoker can get ohhh about 3-4 hours out of an XL battery. The regular 510 batteries would provide more like 1 or 2 hrs but might be longer for a light smoker.

For what you're talking about using a large cartomizer might be good then you might get thrugh the evening without reloading at all. With the cartridge + atty unless you're a pretty light smoker or going out for a very short time you'll have to reload or bring along extras.

You'd get better vapor out of an ego, gogo, or as I understand it the new echo. However the 510 or the 808 do ok and for the kind of usage you are talking about may be enough.

If you'd like to take a look at any of those models let me know and I'll provide you links.

Also if your not addicted to cigs please please use 0 nic juice if you really want to get into this.

I second the Bloog Max Fusion.

It's the best of the cig sized kr808d-1's (simple 2 piece system- battery and cartomizer).

I would actually suggest the mini size, NOT an xl. This is becasue it will look, and feel, more like a real cig. The bat life on a mini bloog is about 3-4 hours. But get a PCC (personal charging case), and you won't have to worry about running out of battery for the whole day.

One carto lasts nearly a whole day, I'm sure it would be way more than enough for you, just using it at night with drinks.

Feel free to PM any technical questions, or come join us in the bloog sub forum. Lots of kind, knowledgable, and helpful people to help you out and answer any questions you may have.

"looks like a normal cigarette" and "good battery life" are not things you find in the same ecig

I recommend Joye 510 manual from Cignot.com, use it with cartomizers, and you could get the PCC at NoSMokeVA.com. DOn't get auto batteries - they are too easy to damage with leaks from cartos and can turn on accidentally from wind or vibration. Manual 510 batteries are totally sealed metal on the threaded end.

If you get the white Joye 510 w/ red LED, and get the tan/brown standard resistance Boge cartomizers at NiteLiteVapor then it would look a lot like a cigarette - just a bit thicker. You need standard resistance cartos, not LR low resistance. The cartomizer takes the place of the atomizer and cart of the 510. Battery life is short though - 2 hours, less if vaped heavily, more if vaped very lightly. The PCC case can charge one if you close it and start the charge and leave it closed. If you open the case you need to restart the charge.

Links would be great! Also am I in danger of developing an addiction to cigarettes never really cared for them because of the flavor but I've always liked the little buzz. I purchased an ENCORE starter pack at a local smoke shop before I checked the internet and posted here because it had a good return policy (she said I could try it out and bring it back if I didn't like the way it smoked) but so far I'm not very impressed. Sounds like all of you have singled out a few great choices for me I appreciate everyones great suggestions!

Since you asked, it says you aren't in denial about the possibility.

You see us all singing the praises of these devices. However, for most of us, that's because they are saving us from the alternative of smoking. Take a look at some of the posts in here. If you really look around, you'll see these are finicky, trouble prone and at times messy devices. They are a real pain in the .... to use actually. We do it because of our addiction and the alternative is to resign ourselves to an early and pretty horrible death. You don't have that hanging over you.

You've already expressed an affinity for nicotine. If you start using these with nic juice, you are likely to develop a dependency but, let's say you use no nic. One night you're out drinking and you find it's leaked or you're out of juice or the battery goes dead. So, you buy a pack of smokes. You feel that nicotine buzz and realize you've been missing it. That's a great way to start a habit you'll regret ever starting.

Also safer than smoking is a long way from safe and even safer than smoking isn't certain. All of the ingredients in these devices are generally regarded as safe except for the nicotine and at these levels, it's a lot safer than cigarettes. However, there really isn't any hard data on what the effects of inhaling them long term will be. For a smoker, the risks make sense, I'm not sure they do for a non-smoker.

Your insight is greatly appreciated. Also to reiterate it would be cool if it looked similar to a cig but I think getting a good amount of vapor and battery life is more important to me. I have been a social smoker for sometime, only really wanting smokes when having a few drink and want that nicotine buzz, or I will occasionally buy a pack but quitting for long periods of time (months without even having a smoke) has never been a problem, because I generally find them horribly disgusting, and hate the smell getting all over my clothes and smelling like a smoker. It has never been something I have had a problem with craving a smoke, a pack can last me a month or two. That being said I guess my concern is with the vaping the flavor is much better, there is no horrible lingering smell, and I can get the nicotine buzz without all the other carcinogens. So I am wondering/feeling like if I get addicted to vaping will it transfer to analog smokes leading down a road I really don't want to travel?

It's a slippery slope here- you don't want to encourage "non-smokers" to use it because they could become smokers and you don't want suggest it's a "smoking cessation device" or the FDA will want to regulate it. I think that if you get a tobacco flavored full PG lower nic juice to begin with it will give you the buzz and the throat hit you will like when you are social smoking now. I know most of my social smoking friends who take a hit of my 8 or 16mg juice definitely feel that buzz. And the tobacco flavors are nice when you first start. If you like it and feel like you want to use it on a more regular basis- order yourself some zero nic samples from any of the yummy e-tailers that are noted on this site.

I vape because I can't quit smoking cigarettes. I've tried more times than I care to think about, but couldn't do it. That's the only reason I vape. I'm an addict. A happy addict now that I'm vaping, but an addict all the same. If I wasn't I wouldn't be vaping. I'd be buying shoes with all the money I spend on vaping.

So after all these good suggestions you think I should return the "ENCORE" I purchased for $50? it came with a 5 pack of 16mg cartomizers, 2 batteries, usb and wall charger. There's not a ton of vapor or a great battery life but it seems pretty good...but seems like the nice ones you guys suggested are just around the same price. I would like a 2 piece system, I don't fully understand the refilling it yourself, and how easy it is to damage batteries, and the leakage problem...

One important question I do have is the mg amount on the cartomizers, Now she said the 16mg 5 packs were equal to a carton of cigarettes or ~2 packs per cartomizer. The first one seemed to run out very fast (in just one night). However my friend who bought a simple $25 dollar Cig2o can buy 3 packs of 24mg strength for $12 and it says its equal to 3 packs. Also I think the 5 pack 16mg ones are $15 dollars...So was the girl who told me each cartomizer was equal to 2 packs just misinformed or are they different, as I can't possible understand how 16mg = 2 packs when the 24mg = 1 pack. I thought maybe the 24mg 3 pack maybe had 8mg in each cartomizer for 24 total which would make sense with each pack = ~8mg, but on each individual cartomizer it is labeled 24mg.

Finally how interchangeable are these cartomizers, must you buy the ones that are the same brand or are they fairly interchangeable? Sorry I'm such a noob thanks for all your help.
