How much more awesome, 3 times more awesome? Would both be alright with 100 VG juices? Just looking for something that wicks well and doesn't leak, not a cloud monster, personally don't care if it has giant clouds of whisps of vapor. The eleaf is a 3rd of the price is all. Both would work on a Smoktech VV ego right?
The smok vv ego isn't going to cut it. Will work with the gs air but not the subtank. Get an istick 30w

I have a Subtank mini and use the rba section. I vape 80% VG e-syrup (it's not e-liquid at 80% VG) and the thing provides excellent performance with no trouble keeping up. I did tinker slightly by enlarging the juice channels a bit with a tiny tool maker's file. Other than that, it's off the shelf stock. I am having a tough time thinking of a notably better single coil RTA.

I'd say if you don't have one, get one. Very hard to go wrong. Not overly expensive, stone simple and so many people have them that you can get plenty of help with your builds.

I am terrible at building these, I have tried everything, every wicking method but the darn thing would flood every single time :(

If it floods every time, you must have an air leak somewhere at the top cap. Try filling with water and leaving it upside down an see if you can find the location of the leak where water will seep out. The only other thing I can think of is a leak between the chimney tube and the coil housing. Check the o-ring there too.

I wick mine with no wick covering the juice holes. Juice holes stay open to daylight. Still no leaks. It's not the wick that stops leaks.

Ok thanks guys, I will look into it, I did change all the o rings for different coloured ones, maybe that's it, even with the 0.5 coils it floods, not as much but it does happen from time to time, its strange because I have two Subtank mini's and they both do it, only very high vg juice seems to stop it but then I get dry hits, another reason I bought the Starre tank, that seems to handle anything. I will put the original rings back on and try again.

I just recently purchased the Ego One sub ohm batteries and tanks. The tanks are fantastic and have a .5 ohm and 1.0 ohm coil that comes with the kit. I ended up trading the tanks to a friend for her 1.8 ohm nautilus mini because the 1.0 coil is just to much for me and the nautilus was milder at 1.8. I can honestly say since switching to this new set up vaping is finally a dependable and satisfying replacement for cigarettes. I have been at this for many years and this is the first time I don't have to fiddle with crap, I fill and vape and get the same hit every time I take a puff off my gear. Life is good.

Your thoughts are like gold and exactly why I think products like the Kanger subox mini kit are actually game changing. It's not anything really new or really different, but it's an almost complete kit people can buy, get a relatively great vape, and not have to fiddle with. If it came with a battery and charger, it would totally be over the top. A couple of smokers I tried to get to switch (and who were relatively motivated to switch) couldn't do it because they just weren't into "tinkering" or maintenance. This new crop of "subohm" tanks, I think, will propel vaping to the next level because they make a damn good and consistent experience accessible to everyone without any tinkering.

@Mad Scientist, I agree with your post and you do get a good hit off these tanks which really helped me to stop smoking but to put "Starter kit" on the front of the box I don't agree with, maybe I'm being old fashioned but when did sub ohming become a starter kit. I get what Kanger mean, that you get everything you need to start vaping in one package but that wording kind of makes me worried.

Actually it is a starter kit if you think about it. You can start with mouth to lung 1.5 ohm coil. After you have that down you can graduate to the rba or subohm coil if you want or stay with the 1.5 coil head.

The best tank I've used is the Zephyrus by Youde. It takes dual coils, and you can buy replacement heads. I haven't used the stock coils, went straight to the rta section, but I've heard they are good too. It's a little bit of a learning curve to wicking the zephyrus but once you get it down (less is better), it just hits like a dream. I use max vg and it and the Cthuhlu (another great tank but a little too fiddly for my tastes now) are the only tanks I've used that could handle the thickness of the juice without modification. I have two Subtanks as well and really like the ease of use with them, and they put out good flavor as well. The Lemo2 was a bust for me, I couldn't get it to wick max vg juice...I should have tried modifying it like I did with the Subtanks (7/64s holes drilled into the rta sleeve) but I traded it away instead. If you just want to be able to buy coils, I hear the Herakles is an amazing tank. If it's your first foray into rebuilding, I'd say the Subtank is easiest to learn on, but the Zephyrus outperforms it.

Fair point, I forgot it came with the 1.5 ohm coil..
