Ok so i'm very new to vaping only been doing it for about a week. I have a DSE901 and im not really getting the throat hit i crave. The juice im using is 24mg Nicotene and i got it with my starter set from createvapor.com. Now im debating on what to do to get a better throat hit...From what i've read using a USB passthrough seems to change your vaping expierence. I've also read a 510 gives a much better throat hit than a 901. So my questions are as follows:

A) Should I purchase a USB Passthrough or should i be looking at getting a 510 instead so i can get the throat hit i need to help keep me off the analogs???

B) Whats the difference between DSE510, Riva510, Joye510, etc im really lost on that and haven't seen much info on the differences.

Not sure i understand what you mean by "a puck that runs on 4 rechargable AAA's"....

I just talked to my best friend who ordered a Riva 901 from East Mall and says the throat hit is amazing and sometimes too much for him. Does battery make all the difference??? If that's the case couldn't i just buy a different kind of battery like a Riva battery and use it on my 901 atty or something??

I started out with a 901 (automatic) a year ago. It was a very short lived experience because like you I needed more throat hit. About six months ago I decided to dig it out so I could try vaping again. The only problem was, I couldn't find it.

I ended up ordering a 510 in hopes of a bigger throat hit. I got the manual battery and it improved the throat hit quite a bit. The battery life is painfully short though. I ended up with the mega batteries which helped out a lot. Then got a 5v passthrough from Madvapes which is very nice and cheap. I bought the car and wall adapter so no worries about plugging it into my computer. It is a hassle to plug and unplug but it's great to have if you need it.

The juice you have really makes a difference as well. I've tried several different vendors and they were all way too light for me. The only two things I can vape are Atomic Cinacide and Tin Box Mint from Tasty Vapor. I'm sure there are others out there that I haven't found yet but I'm currently satisfied with these two.

I recently ordered a 510 3.7v box mod and some low resistant atomizers, which is said to be a great combo. It's really not as complicated as it looks. You just pop a new battery into the battery casing. You pay $27 for the casing. The batteries are really cheap (about $5 each) and you can get 2 batteries with a charger for $14.99. In the long run it will be much cheaper than $20 ego batteries.

Superbals, before you go out and buy an entirely new kit, try this:

Low Resistance 901 SLB Atomizer

This will give you an experience more like a higher voltage mod with your current setup. It's not perfect, but it's a lot cheaper than the alternatives, and you may find it's exactly what you need. And if you haven't already done so, get some manual batteries.

I second this advice. If right now you like what you're using, but wish it had a bit more throat hit, I would recommend trying this before you invest in a mod. I tried both a 5V passthrough and the LR atomizers for my Riva. They worked out great for getting me off cigarettes, but after about four days, I found I was feeling as if I had just chain-smoked three packs of Virginia Slims. Had I jumped into a high voltage mod, I'd have been sad to find out I had to now buy a different one to get me a lower voltage that my lungs were comfortable with. On the other hand, you may try it and decide that the high voltage is the best thing since sliced bread. I'm glad that I tried it on the cheap before investing in a mod, even an inexpensive one.

My friend came over tonight with his Riva 901 which has a LR atty and wow that was much better! He has an extra LR atty i can have. Do i need to change anything about my set up to use an LR Atty?? I thought u gotta have or do something special to do it.....I've got the regular DSE901 battery.....

Thanks everyone so much for taking an interest in me on this im really trying to devote myself to it but its pretty difficult.....I'm considering having my friend give me his LR 901 Atty and his extra charger then ordering a battery for a 901 so i'll have my own Riva 901......

I'm not familiar with how much mAh your standard batteries have. The LR atomizers and cartos will run out a battery faster than a standard attie. Theoretically, you can just put his LR901 on your 901 and it should work, but you are liable to find yourself running down batteries faster than you can charge them if they're anything less than 500 mAh.

Box mods are the least expensive and easiest to use. The best box mods on a budget are at madvapes.com for a 3.7v and at boxmods.net if you want a 5v. You might need a 510 to 901 adapter also. I can't remember if you can choose a 901 version or not.
I would recommend the 5v but even a 3.7v will give you more TH than a RIVA or a standard 901. The RIVA and the 901 are between 3.2 and 3.4 volts.

Riva! that or an ego/tornado I LOVE my riva so far. Got a low resistance atomizer on it and im using a drip tip and am in heaven. My husband woke up this morning, took a hit from the riva and LR atty and said it was the closest thing he's had to a real cig in weeks and we had been using a 510 up until yesterday

The only reason im unsure about boxmods is size and such.....I'm looking into it for an in the future as it does seem pretty damn cool but its not the most portable thing in the world and if i pulled that out in public people arent gonna be as interested and i like when people ask me what it is and i talk to them about it and etc. Im prolly gonna purchase one in about a month or so though.

The Riva does seem to have some very nice advantages....Its not too big but has a great battery without being too huge and with a LR atty is very easy to puff all day long it seems.....Have to see what happens but right now im leaning towards getting that riva kit from eastmall. It's only $40 from there....
