Anyone have any thoughts on smaller mods?
i'm wondering what's out there that can compete against an eGo and drive an LR atty for situations where you might be willing to sacrifice run time for compactness... without giving up stability and protection - i.e. 10440 (AAA size) or 14500 (AA size) and have a device that fits nicely in a pocket ...

I have never owned an Ego but I'm not too fond of 14500 or 10440 batts. I like 3.7v and I notice that vapor drops off pretty quickly when using a single batt.

I had a box mod that used two 14500 batts in parallel for 3.7v and it got most of a day of heavy vaping with no drop off in vapor. I loved that mod and still have it for a backup. It's really easy to build too.

Changed my opinion on the Joker AV after getting one. First, their customer service stinks-took a week to answer my email complaining about the loose atty fitting. then they ask me to believe them when they say that they can turn a warranty repair around in 5 days.

Second, for such a big mod the 3.0 V 400 mAh batteries are a joke. But there is a reason for such a puny battery.

Thirdly, if you put 3.7 V 880 mAh batteries in the Joker, you would probably melt the unit since the Joker does not handle heat well. I ran mine at 4.3 v and it became uncomfortable to hold. Vaping at 4.3 v with the 3.7 V batteries, you would have another 1.4 going into the resistance.

Overall, a terrible experience

Im torn between the Silver Bullet and the Prodigy V3. I would go with the greatlakes mod but I think its pretty ugly. From what I can tell the V3 requires alot of maintenance and the battery's rattle around.

I'm going with the silver bullet unless there is something better.

good choices. i have both, and can tell you the V3 doesn't rattle. most of the mods built for an 18650 battery will rattle when using two 16340/RCR123a batteries for 6V+, but since the AW17670 (3.7v) is 17mm, the dimensions of two stacked AW LiFePO4 batteries (for 6V) are 16.8mm, two AW IMR16340 batteries (for 7.4V) are 16.6mm, and the internal diameter of the V3 is roughly 17mm, there is not any rattling going on there. the differences between the 17670 battery and the 18650 is really size, function and vape time. there aren't any other devices (yet) tailored around 17670, so it's real function is limited to the V3. vaping time, even with a LR atty is great, and will easily last you a day. the 18650, if you need it, will last you two. and in terms of size, using that 17670 instead of bigger battery mods makes for using differnt battery and voltage setups easy, while keeping the overall size relatively small. it's also an all mechanical device, made from stainless steel, has native adapters for any atomizer you use, has a lockable button and is sold at a great price.

IMO part of what keeps me vaping is trying the different mod's.

I think the Saber Touch is bullet proof. You cant go wrong buying one of these. All day vaping never a problem.

My COV Tekk is great never worry about batts again. Its the workhorse of my mods.

My Buzz is cool and I dont think I will buy a mod without VV again. Its a necessary evil because of the lack of consistent products from the cartomizer producers. If they could ever get a handle on their process it might just become a neat parlor trick. But right now that is all I plan on purchasing

All three of the those modders have such great customer service that I would not disrespect any of them by trying to rank them. There CS is above and beyond any products I am a consumer of. I think most of the modders take a lot of pride in their work and am anticipating similar experiences when I make my next purchase (Big Brother) then maybe a Endeavor.

My Advice to people wanting to get a mod is just to pick something that appeals to you. Then let that experience guide you on your quest to vaping bliss.

Where can I view the saber touch, precious & silver bullet?

Also, how the heck do ya order from Thagbuilt? All I'm seeing are photos are previous made ones and plain color options - no order page/list prices? Am I on the right website for the Chuck if I'm on thagbuilt.com?

Anyone try the Xhalor at COV? Edit: Nhalor? Why is this one so expensive? Seems a lot like the Thagbuilt but somehow less sturdy? Anyone try this one?

Hmm...been perusing the thread and I had to add that the newest mods that seem to carry the most interest for me are the Self feeding mods utilizing the bottom feed method. The latest manufacturers of these are rnrmanufacturing.com and reosmods.com.

This is the newest generation of mods, imho....give a look...they got my interest and seem to fill the bill on all my requirements...though, I know, we all have different requirements.

if I were going with a saller size mod I'd go with a 16340 precise running a single LiMN high drain 16340...

the high drain 14500, 16340 besides the 18650 size batteries are really the only thing with a high enough drain rate to meet the amp draw of a LR atty...
a lot of the single 16340 battery size mods are overall smaller than the 14500 ones...and believe the 16340 precise to be the smallest in that field...(plus it has a lifetime warranty, is all stainless, all mechanical, and will soon have a juice feeder attachment available as well)

Juice feeder? on a 16340? Now you're talking.... will it retro fit or will there be a new version? I'd imagine that 16340 get's to be the length of a 18650 with a JF on it... where can I find more info on that....

you can get the specs on all his models in the super T subforum as well as pics for size comparison....the juice feeder isn't out yet (it's being made in the shop now)....but he says it'll hold up to 30ml and would fit any of his models (he's infered that it'll fit any mod actualy not just his)

EDIT: I'll get you specific links later

That's awesome. Based on the quality of his work, it will be great.
