Okay, I've been vaping for about a month now and am really liking it. My current set up is eGo VV twist (3.2 - 4.8) with a Kanger Protank.

The last couple of days, I feel like my vapor production seems to be a bit diminished like my battery just isn't producing the punch it used to fresh from the box even with changing out to a brand new atty. I could be just imagining things as well.

So, here's my question(s):

- I've been thinking about a mod like a Smoktech SID. Is this hopefully 510 threaded?
- I've hunted around for this, and forgive me moderators for potentially doubling up on a subject, but can someone explain the resistances or make some suggested resistance - voltage suggestions?

If you have a multimeter - check the battery off the charger and again about an hour into vaping. Also check the ohms on the protank. If they're on the money, then it's something else - different ejuice, different PG/VG mix???

from heathcabin site:
SID has 510/eGo threading and fits most compatible atomizers/clearomizers with a 510/eGo threading (not included) such as Vivi Nova. Kanger T2, T3 and MT3 need an 510-eGo adapter(link) to fit on SID.

from Vapor Alley:
Smoktech's SID is eGo compatible and works with even tricky clearomizers like the Kanger T3. ??? Guess you'll have to find out for yourself.

As far as ohms/voltage/wattage - it's pretty dependent on the flavors you're vaping. Stronger flavors require more heat/wattage, lighter flavors less. Suggest staying in the 6-9 Watt range.

Two good mods that are widely popular are the Vamo and Sigelei Zmax; the Zmax is more expensive and a little better, I believe. Research them--there are plenty of threads discussing the pros and the cons of those two APVs.

On the subject of wattage:

Wattage = Voltage (of your battery) squared divided be the Resistance (Ω) of your atomizer. If you're not good at math, don't worry, use this easy calculator:

Online Conversion - Ohm's Law Calculator

The wattage you want, especially at the beginning of your vaping career, should be somewhere between 4.5 and 8.5 Watts. Anything lower than 4.5 may not vaporize your juice properly and will not produce enough warmth and vapor. Anything above 8.5 W increases the risk of burning the filler in your cartos (if you're using them) and even some juices, especially the delicate ones.

Tobaccos, chocolate and coffees require more wattage (heat), while fruit and other delicate flavors do better with less heat.

Experiment and you'll find your own sweet spot in no time!
