Hello all. I'm a long time lurker. Just registered as a member. ECF has been one of the best sites to learn that I have found. Thank you all for what you have already done to help the vaping community. And thanks, in advance, for any direction you can provide me here.

I've been vaping for more than a year. Started, like many others with, with the ego twist and clearos. Got the MVP then the MVP2. I still use the MVP2 as my battery. Didn't care much for the iClears. Switched to the Protanks and Protank 2's. Rebuilt many a wick on the Protank 2. Became such a hobby. Started mixing my own juices (some great, some not so great, still learning). Wanted to get more into RBAs. Got my hands on an RSST and love it. I have it on top of my MVP2. Drilled my top cap for better air flow. I mainly use SS rope with silica and wrap with 32g, 30g, and 28g (depending on my mood and what I want to try). Usually run around 1.8 - 2.5 ohm and run about 3.8v - 4.5v depending on coil and juice being used. I also use cotton every so often and love the flavor. Keep going back to SS rope because of its durability and life.

I'm looking to get to the next level (or two). My budget is not unlimited so I need to watch my pennies. I can put back and save if need be. But, what do I save for? Should I go for a different mod (mech or variable) to improve on what I have? Should I go for a different tank and atty and keep my MVP2? Should I go with something different altogether. I keep looking at the Reo Grand and Reomizer2. The bottom feed with 6ml, rebuild-able atty, the durability, and it seems to have good customer service and a robust community of users. It is something I would definitely have to save for to fully outfit. Are there other options if I should consider?

I'm looking for your personal recommendations. I'll appreciate all of them. I will continue to do my own research and make my mind up. I'm just looking for additional input on what you would recommend and why.

Thanks, in advance.

I just started using a reo last week and I have to admit that I can't imagine vaping getting any better. I have the grand with the rm2. I do agree that they are pricey but well worth the money in my opinion. Everything I have collected in the last year is just sitting around but it is good to have backups for anything. I keep looking of ebay and the classifieds because I want a backup reo. That is how good they really are to me. I have several pv's and I love the mvp2. There is just so much vaping stuff out there now. Isn't it wonderful? Good luck to you.

Welcome to the forum. You are right, it is a wonderful place to get answers, help and support. I don't know what I would have done without ecf.

It all depends on you personal preference. If you want to cloud chase and build a lot of crazy coils I would get a mechanical mod. If you want a consistent quality vaping experience get a regulated mod. But if I were you I would upgrade your mod first. Get a nice mechanical mod clone or authentic or a nice regulated mod like a DNA or OKR device. Hana Modz, DB Mods (DNA) The Duke, Hex Ohm (OKR) These are very nice mods but can be a bit pricey. OKR mods are about $140 and DNA's about $200 and up.

I too started out with an mvp, after it broke, i upgraded to the VTR and then ended up getting into mechanicals. Personally I am a huge fan of RBA's. There are many kayfun clones out there that are really nice to start with building. Mech mod clones, IMO, aren't much different then the authentics. usually the only difference is the type of contacts used or the grade of metal used to make the mod. There are some clones out there that are just terrible. A lot of clones from companies like EH pro are pretty spot on. I think RBA's are a little bit easier to transition into, especially if you've rebuilt your protank coils. RDA's aren't bad but i would start with a 3 post before going to those 5 post ones. They can get pretty tricky and can be pretty intimidating at first. Also look into wicking with cotton. I think it makes a big difference when doing your own builds. Good luck to you in your future builds !!

I would start by asking myself what is it I'm looking for that my current setup doesn't provide. The landscape is changing so fast that who knows what will be invented/available in the next 6 months or even a year. If you're happy with what you have right now, just enjoy it. You can still save money, but you don't have to decide right now what it is you may want in the future.
