Do I want a large center hole with thin side walls that fits tightly in the hole? A small center hole, thick walls, tight fitting? Small center hole, thick walls, loose fitting? Also, how is 400 mesh with 50/50 (10% water)? Should I be looking for 325 or 270? The liquid isn't super thick, but it's definitely thicker than a mostly PG liquid. Hopefully I'll be getting some vapemail tomorrow :)

small hole tightly wrapped 400 works awesome for me with 50/50. as far as diamter and fit into the wick hole? gonna have to mess with that a little until it wicks right for yer vaping style. 'I personally believe you can get 400 to work for everything depending on how you roll it but you might find it easier/better with 325 or even 500.......lots of schools of thought on that.

how I roll mine is here:

I haven't done much experimenting with wicks, but BJ43 has.

here's one of his posts - http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...tainless-steel-wick-filler-7.html#post7005724

He's also conducted "kerosene latern" tests - wicks from different mesh sizes in small jars of kerosene. Light the wick and see how large the flame is and how long it burns until out of kerosene.

In all of his tests, the smaller the mesh size (meaning a larger 'mesh #'), the better it wicked. This doesn't mean that 325 mesh won't work, just that 400 or 500 mesh will most likely work better.
