What's the difference between the two types of "brands"

I have only really used the cheap ecigs, you know the ones, cost around £20 and the clearomizers burn out at least once every two weeks.

I have looked into the more expensive ones but not really wanted to buy one and find out they don't really do anything better. So I am here today asking if they are actually better and worth a purchase?

(I did have a nice post wrote out but I added a link and it kindly deleted everything saying I am not allowed to post links)

Welcome to the forum. You will be able to post links after a certain number of posts (I think it's 5).

Yes, you generally do get what you pay for, and the more expensive ones are often worthwhile. Do you know the names of the ones you're considering? I'm sure someone here will have used them and can tell you how they found them.

I must say yes, they are absolutely worth it. Sometimes if prices are too high you can find a clone of that product and get the same exact thing for a lot less! I just bought a clone myself of the Hanna mod dna 20. The original is about 300 or so but the exact clone is around 70 out the door.you will get much better performance out of a higher end mod. This difference would be like night and day!! Hope this helps and best wishes.

Thanks :)

I just found the one actually that I saved last week, it's called "Aqwa Square iTaste V3 Kit" from ukecigstore

I think you will find a great improvement jumping to a vv/vw rig with a decent topper.

The vv V3 (it is made my innokin and branded by UKECS) is a supper device, I'm vaping one right now. However, if I could only have one device it would be the VV3's big brother, the MVP. If you can afford a little more the MVP has a huge vape time. Otherwise, they are very similar. It looks like the topper is an innokin I-clear 16 and they are decent little toppers and the coils last forever. Some love them, some hate them. Grab a Protank III when you order so you can try a bottom coil as well. The price for the link you posted seems a little higher for here but it may be on par for over there. Google search for Innokin VV V3 for best deal.

You will definitely get better quality products and consistancy from name-brand manufacturers. Like someone said above, you get what you pay for. Knockoff brands will be hit or miss (mostly miss).

Some manufacturers with the best reputations:

Joytech, Vision, Aspire, Kanger, Innokin (iTaste), Segelei.

Boge, Ikenvape, & Smoktech - cartomizers.

AW, Panasonic, & Sony - replaceable rechargeable batteries.

Thanks a lot for the great replies, glad I picked a good one haha :) hopefully will be ordering one tomorrow after a good look around tonight for the best places to buy etc.

I would definitely take a look around. After I posted before, I went to close the UKEC site and noticed one of the first things they say under the V3 is "Made in England" with your flag :( They are Innokin and they are made in china like the majority of ecig stuff. That right there would have me suspicious.

Come join us down in the VV V3 owners group after you put you order in :)

Here's a bit of reality. Most of this stuff is made in China. The key to Chinese manufacture is quality control. Innokin, among others, seem to exert some fairly heavy duty quality control. Others, such as fasttech, very little. I suspect that high quality and low quality come out of the same (or very closely related) Chinese factories. The difference is the quality control exerted by the importer, and, correspondingly, the cost.

Occasionally, you can luck out and get some really cheap, but reasonable quality stuff. In the final analysis, you tend to get what you pay for.

I didn't notice that - it says the manufacturer is Aqwa so it looks like it may not be a genuine one. You have to be so careful about stuff like this as it's often not made clear!

It's also available here at myepack: Innokin iTaste VV V3.0 Express Kit - Batteries & Chargers
This is the battery alone, you would have to get the tank and eliquid separately, but given the price difference you would still probaby save money buying from them.
I've ordered stuff from them before and their prices are very good, it arrives quickly, and everything I've had from them appears to be genuine, so I recommend them.

Northern NJ native , Coastal NC now.
+1
on the Innokin VV3 and especially the MVP 2.0 , i needed something that would last at least a day and a half of heavy vaping without needing a recharge , the MVP is it .

You should read the reviews for this device , how can 700+ FIVE star reviews be wrong , i have never come across any product that gets five stars from every reviewer lol.

The kit comes with everything you need except juice.

I would bet my last drop of juice that those are innokin VV V3's. Innokin even advertises that they will private brand if you buy enough quantity.

They are to expensive any way. The price on that basic kit is about right it seems. That site does have a starter kit for £29.99 with 5 i 16's which is a good deal but who needs FIVE i-16's unless you really like them. The OP should shop around, sometimes the bare bones kits are a good deal and then add your own toppers.

Ok so I was about to order the following from MyEpack

Innokin iTaste VV V3.0 Express Kit
Kanger Mini Protank 3

Then read somewhere that the mini protank 3 isn't compatible with the VVV3 and I will need an adapter of sorts, now they sell them on MEP but honestly they are not described well for noobies like me haha

Any help finding it on the site or elsewhere (that is reputable and reasonably priced) will be appreciated or even a different cartomizer around the same price.

Thanks again folks you've been a great help.

I wouldn't know why the mini protank wouldn't be compatible. My VV3 has a standard ego connection, which is compatible with both the ego cone threads and a standard 501 connection. The "adapter" might be a trim ring that covers the outer ego cone threads. I'm not sure what threads a mini protank has, but it will be one of those two.

I'm not sure to be honest, I was just looking at a review before ordering, if you google "Kanger Mini Protank 3 review" it should be the first link by "Vapour Clouds Reviews"

Vapour Cloud Review said:
Being a mini with e-Go threads it sits flush on my 900mah e-Go batteries, and looks very impressive indeed. On a larger diameter battery, because of the native eGo threads, no beauty ring is needed. The Mini Protank 3 will not work on a battery with only 510 threads, unless you get a 510 to eGo adapter.

OK, so a mini PT 3 has an ego connection. It won't work on a mod that only has a 510 connection. 510 is the smaller, female only, connection on the mod.

The mini PT 3 will work fine on an iTaste VV3, which will work with either type of connection. I use a Kanger T3S on my VV3, perfect fit.

Thanks for putting my mind at ease :D
