Lower resistance means less ohms of resistance. Low resistance (LR generally 1.5-2.3 ohms) means that the atomizer will pull more power from your battery (and use it up sooner) with less resistance and get hotter quicker. This makes a standard battery work like a higher voltage battery. So, the standard 3.7v unit behaves like a 5v unit, in terms of vaporization. On the other hand, if you have a high voltage unit (5v-6.4v), you may want to use a higher resistance atomizer (generally 3.7-5 ohm) to prevent premature burnout of the atomizer from the higher voltages being applied.

There are many LR and HV type (as well as standard) atomizers from many of the vendors here at ECF.
