I'm confused over the right configuration for attys and batteries. What are the cut offs for different ohms with different batteries? Say for instance with my Ego-T 1000 mah battery, what would be the lowest resistance atty I could put on it? Or the range I can work in? Do I need to be thinking about the voltage or the mah?

I was looking at low resistance 306 attys on Avidvapor and they warn about putting them on any battery lower than 2 amps: "Do not use any low resistance atomizer with batteries rated less than 2Amp output. Not only will it will damage a “standard” e-cig battery and potentially damage most eGo style batteries and you will not get the most out of low resistance."

Thanks in advance for the advice!

Ohms and volts alone mean nothing. The combination = watts. That is the key. Here is a chart I use that may help you.

If you want to calculate watts it's Volts squared divided by ohms.
You want between 4-8 watts for good vaping.
Mah is how much current it will run at for 1 hour. So a 650 mah battery will run at 650 milamps for one hour.
To understand volts and amps water is a perfect example. Volts is pressure amps is water flow like gallons per hour. Watts is the product of both as in power or working force. Ohms would be like the size of a hose the smaller the hose the greater the Resistance.
Hope this helps here is an XL spread sheet that will do the watts calculation for you. Don't change the red fields.

Hope this helps don't hesitate to ask more questions.

Steve's post above answers most of your question perfectly.

Your eGo 1000 fires at 3.3-3.4 volts. It's fine to use low resistance- best is 1.8 ohms (warmer vape) BUT the batt will drain slightly quicker. 2.0 ohms is perfect and will give a cooler vape. When using cartos always make sure they're single coil...dual coil make for a weak vape and drain the batts quicker.

Yes there is the extremely rare chance a low res will damage the batt but I've yet to read about it. Friends have the eGo C 1000 and use 1.7 cartos all the time. Realize for the 306 atty you'll need to buy a 306 drip tip.
Good Luck.
