I have been DIYing for a little while now and have started to amp up my mixing from basic flavors/2 flavor mixes to some more complex ones and was wondering what the difference between a sweetener like liquid sucralose and Ethyl Maltol? Does it really make a difference or are they the same? Please help!

A sweetener sweetens. EM can do that too, but it can do more.
Yes, it makes a difference.

Maybe if you read my videos and watched my blog, it would help...

Sucralose is a sweetener (the same as Splenda, but in a concentrated liquid form).

Ethyl Maltol is what's used for most cotton candy flavors. It can sweeten, it can also smooth out sharp flavors. Not everyone tastes it the same way though. I think it smells divine...cotton candy yumminess. But I don't think it tastes anything like it smells. It doesn't even taste sweet to me. It does work for smoothing out sharp flavors for me, though. I will add a couple drops to overly acidic tasting juices (lemonades, etc.).
