I'm trying to understand whether cartoms are a valid alternative to the madness that is atom use (keeping them wet, not making them burn, don't flood them). I'm ready to give up a small portion of quality in exchange for peace of mind.

I'm currently vaping with smoktech dual coil cartoms and I'd like to know if there are better alternatives around. I want to avoid using adapters, so it's strict 510 threading for me.

Personally, I think that the Smoketech 1.5 ohm dual coils have the warmest vape.
These are the ones I'm currently using I think. Not bad at all.
I also happen to think that cartomizers can surely get better in taste, vapor production, etc. while atomizers are just the way they are (ie. prone to wick burning, under feeding and the rest of problems). Atomizers can definitely give you a 10-20% better vaping experience when they work at their best. It's just that keeping them at their best is such a chore. :(

I go back and forth. I have finally gotten pretty good using the Cisco 306 1.5 ohm attys, and I like them. I also enjoy the convenience of the cartomizers, especially when I am with my horses and not thinking about vaping. I also like a warm vape. :)

I have tried many. My favorite for very warm to hot are boge 3.0 at 6v.

Otherwise the dual coils were a bit hotter than smoketech 1.7s Aka "resurrectors" IMO for 3.7v vaping. Boge 2.0s are my stand by (always have them on hand). Just don't mistake them for 3.0s on a 6v device.

So to sum up based on my experience. (hot to warm/neutral)

Boge 3.0 @ 6v
Dual coils 1.5 @ 3.7v
Resurrectors 1.7 @ 3.7v
Boge 2.0 @ 3.7v

Boge 2.0 @ 6v NO! :)

it is indeed, until you get the hang of it, then it will become second nature. one thing i learned was not to switch all sorts and types all the time. they all have their own way of feeding, then you need to be aware of whitch one you have on at the moment, witch makes it harder to become second nature.

am still using the regular 510 atty's, they are one of the easyest to get the hang of. when you flood them it's not that hard to get them back in track without blowing them out all the time. when they get dry you can taste it before you really get a dry-burn, and when you really have a dry burn, they are not quickly killed.

yes i know what you mean, when i was using PG liquids i used carto's too, mostly cleoromizers on the ego batt's (i had no reo yet). they were then the easyiest to use, with the less hassle. i switched back to the atty's when i needed to switch to VG. these clearo's didn't do good with the thick VG juice. i ended up dripping the 510, and my love used up about a clearo a day as he can't go dripping at work.

that's when we bought the reo, all the hassle was gone, only the long learing curve left to feed the atty's propperly, took us about a month, maybe even more to really get the feeling of it. every now and then we still flood it, dry burn is rare, witch my tongue is very happy with :)
