Quad vertical with positive and negative extensions.

I stumbled upon some of your pictures on reddit one day, and I think that's what put the seed in my brain to start getting extreme with my building, at the time I thought I'd built everything, but the extensions allow for so much more!

Right on brother, what works best for extensions man, I haven't used anything other than some silver jewelry wire. I didn't try it that much, I've been messing around with my metal lathe though :p, I'm going to sculpt the most capable 22650 dripper the world has seen soon. Yeeeaaah buddy!

***EDIT: Oops my bad cuz, found the post saying it's just thick kanthal. Which I have plenty of 20ga not being used.

I made a "tween post" build after seeing one like it on instagram somewhere, it took forever to get the hot spots out where they would touch up against the posts but I did manage to have this working for an entire day, 26ga wire wrapped over a 1/4" piece of steel round stock, I wrapped it off of the atomizer and then spiraled the entire setup in to the posts. Came in at ~.3 ohms, tightening the screws was interesting and also a huge pain as it moved the coil all over the place. Flavor was good, vapor was a bit lacking and there was almost zero throat hit.

It was decent, but no where near worth the trouble it took to make it.

Oh very cool, that's a new one to me. I bet the flavor was EXCELLENT, and that's probably the best recipe for no dry hits too! I bet this thing would warp all over the place, I bet it's most frustrating when you get it going, and it mess's up right when you start to enjoy your vape, I've had some coils do that on me. Nothing like fixing coils with sticky fingers all day!

~I'm gonna have to try this with some 24ga nichrome, I bet it'd help heating up all that wire a little. I have some gatwire on the way to see what all the fuss is about (I have a feeling it's just a mix of kanthal and nichrome, my metal detector will find out the secrete lol).

Mundy's Magic wasn't easy at first; but then neither was the René41 . . .. . .. why not both then?

Very nice! I have a Mundy coil still sitting in my immortalizer because it's so perfect, and like you said, not easy! However after building it once, I actually get the idea of it now, and have grow quite experience at it. I have 2 feet of it pre-made laying in my droor lol.

*What is a Rene41? Is that the welding wire? Really tough stuff I'd imagine.*

this one wasn't easy too, tho, either . . . .

Hey since we're doing shapes, you have the square, here's my circle! It was a perfect sphere before I adjusted it to glow properly, it turned into almost a football shape :(. But this one was probably the most frustrating I've ever made because I didn't have a guide, I just shaped it bend by bend.

Don't mind the wire poking from the posts, and the homely appearance, I'm usually a perfectionist (try to be anyway :p) but this one made me want to take old yeller out back.

THE SPERE!

It vaped great with ludicrous battery power, but on an 18650 mech, too a good amount to ramp up. But it shot flavor in all directions!

My theory was, ultimate shape for surface area . NOPE!

THE SNIPER (of course your whacky coils need stupid names too!)
7kKYYTD.png

THE OVERACHIEVER (I only thought it was tricky because it was my first time with mesh...aaand I didn't oxidize it first)
lM28guY.png

THE BELOW AVERAGE (stupid low ohms, literally, I wrapped 4 and my battery barely had the amps, I didn't use but for 10 minutes. The top is a regular 28ga super-nano coil, the bottom is a parallel super-nano coil, for gits and shiggles)

THE DRAGON'S NOOSE! (This is off-topic, and a corny name I know, and of course I don't call it that lol. I just threw this in, because dragon coils were hard for me to figure out how to get a satisfying vape (for me), I found out that 24ga is a must, need plenty of loose cotton. But most importantly,

tight wicking.

So I used my rock-climbing experience and made a "rope" out of cotton, and tied down a "cow's hitch knot" around the super-nano 24ga's. This really let's you cinch it tight, and doesn't expand away from the coil, because it's tied! Keeps the juice from being shot back into the cotton, and only leaves the end of the cannon as it's only escape. Just thought I'd share, because to me, this was a "whacky setup", because I didn't have luck with it for so long, and now it's functional because it's one of my favorites!

This knot will be perfect for my vertical builds......Thanks for sharing!

There you go, I'd done that and hadn't even thought of the advantage lol. I (just today actually) tried it out with some organic cotton yarn, and it makes it 4x easier :). I still use cotton balls for the "bedding" around the wick, because I feel like I'm betraying cotton after using after all these years, but for around/through the wick, it makes things alot easier, and vapes the same!

~That's one thing I always fret over for some reason, I have to get the wick just the right thickness, and I usually end up filling my entire desk up with little cotton-ball fluffs just from making 2 perfect wicks, I have to say I like having a "pre-made" cotton wick that's always the same thickness. (That can be a tiny issue in itself though, because you can't always make yarn the perfect width of your coils, you can only use two pieces.) So I'm not totally cheating on loose cotton :p.

THIS THING TAKES NAMES! Seriously it's not a novelty coil, it's been charged with statutory vape.

Hey all, I tried the "Inception coil" a while back expecting an interesting vape, was a little disappointed that it wasn't at all, just another "novelty coil". So I had the idea to try and make the "outer coil-inner coil" system work.

There were three things wrong with the "Inception Coil" in my experience:
1. It didn't produce alot of vapor, and took way too long to heat up.
2. It didn't heat up *evenly*.
3. It wasn't worth the hard effort of building, wicking, and the ohms were a little high (for my tastes) due to the one long piece of kanthal design.

So I decided to try and fix all these problems, while keeping the same "coil inside another" idea, because I thought this was the coolest idea, basically squeezing vapor between two hot coils. I came up with a kind of "best of both worlds coil", where I would take my favorite vapor producing coil the super-nano, and surround it with my favorite flavor coil; a 5/64th's" macro-coil that's slightly gapped between the wraps. I used 24ga wire, to keep the ohms low, also to make them two separate coils, and twist the connection legs together to make it a paralell build.

So I was hoping that this would keep the ohm's low, produce vapor fast, while still making great flavor. And it couldn't have been more on the money! It's just like vaping these two coils if I had them separate in dual coil mode, but even better! Better because it heats up in an instant, and has flavor that super-nano's just can't come close to making, the vapor is incredibly dense, and it uses juice really efficiently too. When I check it visually when I sense it getting dry, it's usually used up all the juice available, the best part is though: it produces gobs of vapor, while not being sensitive to dry hits. I don't know if it's because of the sandwiching, or two coils pulling juice at the same time, but it's a bullet-proof setup! Easily one of the best single coils I've ever tried (I haven't tried too many other than the standard nano, micro, macro etc., and not as of lately so take that with a grain of salt. ;) ), and it performs comparably to any dual coil as well.

If anybody wants to know, I basically just: Wrapped a super-nano (24ga), a macro 5/64th's on a similar size screw (24ga as well), equalized the ohm's so both coils were the same ohm'age, bent the legs on the super-nano to fit the coil inside the other, adjusted the coils to line up perfect and held the inner coil steady with wedged cotton while I twisted the coil legs together. Adjusted the coils to glow proper, wicked 3 cotton strands between the Inner coil & Outer coil (sandwiched), and tucked some light cotton under the beauty. It came out to 0.3ohms, and vaped like a beast, a flavorful beast; so much so that I had to stop using a sweet juice because it was too rich.

Here's some pics I took during the build:

<---Pic really doesn't do it justice, it blasts vapor in 3 directions, from both sides of the super-nano openings, and from

the front, out of the spaced 5/64th's" coil face.

When I first vaped it I thought it was going to be like any other "silly" novelty coil, and not really work well. But I couldn't have been more wrong, it's a darn excellent vape! It's not as hard as you may think to build either, certainly more easy than the "Inception coil", but 5x more worth it for sure. I'll definitely be building this in the future again, possibly TWO of these bad boys, I know that would kick some major rear end.

Hope someone enjoyed this, and if you like "single" coils, definitely give this bad boy a shot! Vape onward y'all.

(I took a quick video of this coil performing too if anyone wants to see, I'm just having some technical issue's trying to convert it!)
