hello everyone,

looking for some suggestions from the encyclopedia that is the ECF user-base. I've decided to try a new delivery system, and have no idea where to start. I mostly drip using my Lavatube, 3.0 ohm atty at about 4.7 volts. 24mg juice, mostly coffee, mint, and fruit flavours.

I really don't mind dripping so much, as I tend to change flavours based on my mood. But I feel like I'm missing out on tons of different experiences, what with all the tanks/clearos/cartos/rebuildables etc etc being out there. Throat hit is pretty much what keeps me vaping, so that's the most important consideration here.

What would be a logical 'next step' progression for me? I totally understand that vaping is subjective and my mileage may vary, however I don't even know where to start (and this forum is just too massive to sift through every post!).

Thank you in advance kind folks!

Alot of your throat hit is going to come from your juice mix. The more PG you have in your mix, the more throat hit you'll have. Nictoine also plays a part in throat hit. The higher the nicotine the more throat hit you'll get. Higher voltage can also affect throat hit. The higher the voltage the stronger the throat hit.
If you're looking to step up, I'd say your next logical step would be something in a Variable Voltage mod box.
Here's a link to a pretty good discussion on them.

I'm seriously thinking about getting the new VVProV from notcigs myself:D
I've been a Provari/tank person for awhile now, and the main reason I'm looking hard at this particular mod is because the bottle that holds the juice is made of glass instead of plastic like most of them. Plastic can kill the flavor of your juice.
Good luck and happy hunting!

Oh...and if you're into the whole rebuildable atomizer thing. Here's a good link to learn about that.

Thanks Kay!

Sorry, I don't think I was specific enough - I'm happy with my VV Lavatube - just looking for a different juice delivery system, something instead of dripping. I'll be upgrading to a ProVari at some point, but I want to get the hang of another system on my Lavatube before I make the jump!

Thanks again!

In my opinion, nothing is going to top the vaping experience of dripping on a good atty. But for some comparisons, you should try Boge and Smoktech cartomizers - in a tank or not, it's really all about the carto. You also might want to try some CE2 type clearomizers tanks... top coil devices which use the long wicks hanging down into various size tanks. Or the newer style ones like the Phoenix which have the coil on the bottom instead. Gotvapes has a good variety and selection of these. You may want to try Genesis style attys which use steel mesh wicks sunk into tanks and are of the re-buildable type. I think, but I'm not sure, that you'll have to visit Euro venders to get one of these. I have no experience with these but they do look interesting. You might also want to try a dual coil atty and/or a dual coil carto... but you should wait until you get your Provari first for these.

Avid's HH357 and Ikenvape attys (notably i06) are notable quality attys to try if you haven't yet and what to check out top of the line attys. It all comes down to how much experimenting you want to do. If vaping is a hobby for you, in addition to being your nicotine delivery system, it's all a function of time and money and research. Fun stuff.

I've tried a few of the above mentioned devices but nothing beats dripping for me... so far. Btw, one of these days, Avidvaper is supposed to come out with an Atty Tank. I can't wait to get my hands on one of those.

Well a lot depends on what you're willing to spend. The VV Reo Grands should become available in a few weeks. You could look into the VVPV at notcigs. There a number of people out there making wooden VV bottom feeders. If none of those fit your budget there are some lower cost options.

Oh, ok....then you're wanting to change from dripping?
I'd suggest a tank with cartomizer, like this....

New! Pyrex Glass Tanks For Your Ecig

or this.....

Naked CLear Phiniac Tank - Phiniac Rugged Pyrex Glass Tanks

While they may not be cheap from the start, remember that the tank itself you use and use and use etc etc....the
only thing you replace after you get a tank, is the cartomizer, unlike something like a clearomizer, where you throw the whole thing away. So tanks are more economical and give a much better taste than clearomizer, and Stardusts and the like.
And they look very nice on top of a Provari or a Lavatube.:D

Not_a_bad_suggestion,_however_you_will_lose_flavor_through_the_polyfill_inside_cartos...Hence_why_I_drip.

Not too concerned about budget really -thanks for the suggestions! Is the Reo Grand fully VV? or just 'multi-voltage' (I thought it just had 2 settings, like 3.7 and 6 volts).

Those Phiniac tanks look awesome! just to clarify - the tank is reusable, but you need cartomizers inside the tank, correct?

You're thinking about the regular grand. A while back Reosmods made a deal with notcigs and they are coming out with Reos with the electronics from a Buzz Pro. The first round was the VV Woodvil. I think they sold out in 2 hours. I got one and it took some determination. :) The VV Grands are supposed to be a larger run and right now they are supposed to go up on the site on the 12th. I've heard that might be delayed a bit. I hope so. I'll be on a plane the 12th. :(

You're right. The tank serves to keep the carto wet. There's a little plastic filler tool on the site that looks sort of like a drip tip. It's one of those, "Why didn't I think of that!!" things. I recommend you get one if you go with a tank.

Ahh yes, I must have been thinking of the old Reo. I know I checked the reomods website, but there wasn't much info listed - either that or my work browser wasn't able to load it. Either way, I'll keep my eyes peeled for that Reo Grand.

Regarding the plastic filler tool you speak of - sorry but what site can I find that on? Thanks again!

Here it is!!! Watch the video and you'll wonder two things. Why you didn't think of it and why anyone can use a tank without one. Unfortunately they are out of stock at the moment.

I won't use anything with filler and don't drip, and also need something to fit the Darwin, so that has always limited me. So I've been just using 510-t atties for a long time, no complaints though. I've tried dripping and it's only slightly better, not worth the trouble for me.

I hear that the Vision Vivi 2 doesn't have filler, although I'm not sure how these things die, or how long you can go without replacing the wicks. So that might be worth looking into.
