what's the problem here?

I have 2 batteries. I use the 2 piece kind. Something is wrong with one of them. The battery is fully charged, I put on a cart and puff on it and the battery won't work. Take the cart off and suck on the battery and it lights up on the end just fine.
I've tried a new cart on it and same thing. I know air needs to come through the battery to turn it on and it's like air is leaking someplace.

direct sucking on the battery is fine....the battery works but put on a cart and it won't turn on.

what could be the problem?

I had a similar problem with a KR808 batt and figured I'd just mess around with it because it was headed for the trash anyway. I noticed the battery has a little ball bearing looking thing you can see if you look into the hole (I'm sure someone here knows the correct term for it). The ball thingy was sitting alot higher than on my other batts, so I took a pin and tried to push it down and just kept wiggling it around. The ball never did go down lower, but now the batt works. Don't know why, but it saved a batt from the trash. Could be I scraped some gunk off that I couldn't see, although I had already tried cleaning it. May be worth a shot if you're going to throw it away anyway. Might help to know what kind of batt you're dealing with?

Ok. the little holes by the LED allows air to enter and activate the battery. I have the 2 piece (Cart + Battery). It is from V4L. I suck on the cartomizer and the battery will not activate.. I take the Cartomizer off and suck on the battery where it screws on and the light activates. I know air is getting through that way.
I know the cartomizer is good because it works on my other battery. It's when you suck on the cartomizer when its attached to the battery that it does not work.

No cartomizer = working light and battery. With cartomizer = Not working.

It's the air that flows into the LED holes that activates a tiny switch that turns on the battery. It's like air is getting around the little holes where the cartomizer is screwed on but not through the battery when it's connected.

hmmmmm

Like Rosa said, try blowing air through the cartomizer while it's off the battery. It might be clogged or overfilled.

"I know the cartomizer is good because it works on my other battery."

Ok, I caught that part.

• So you have ONE battery that won't work when a carto is on it even though those same cartos work on your other battery.

• BUT this bad battery does work if there's NO carto on it.

In that case I have no idea.... I'm vaguely familiar with how auto batts and cartomizers work, but I don't own auto batts. It does sound like something is wrong with the batt though since the carto works on your other batt no problem.

Sorry :(

Rusty - did both of your batteries work before?

Maybe your carto's center circle on the threaded end needs to be lifted a bit. Is it possible one battery is making good contact and the other is not?

Also look at the air notches on the edge of the carto - are they blocked at all by the colored skin on the carto? Is the middle of the threaded end of the carto grooved across with a shallow air channel? If not then it is counting on the battery to have an air channel. V4L cartos have the channel on the carto.
