(Drops, scratches,etc...)

Well ill start...

Luckily I was driving around in a parking lot and I left my PV on the dashboard in my car. I have a GUS and those are circular as it can be so it rolls around too much. When I took a sharp left, I hear a jumbling sound and I look to my friend, "did anything fall out?"
Lol so as soon as I find a parking spot Im gathering my things then lastly my e cig. Where did it go? First thing I'm i think is "shoot... It's in the spot where I heard a weird sound."
I run as fast as I can (it's like I lost my best friend) to that spot in the parking lot and what do you know? It's right there in the middle of the street. Fortunately there were only a couple of cars driving around and my e cig was still intact. Just a couple of scratches from the drop when it came out of my car.

This has to be my worst experience with my e cig since I always took care of it and made sure I never scratched it up...

ECF, what's the worst thing that happened to your ecig that accidentally happened or what not

I have a lavatube mini..black as it was and it fell out of my shirt pocket at work and landed in a bucket of kerosene. I quickly got it out, pulled out the battery and gave it a good wipe down and a little wet cloth cleaning, tossed the carto (after completely destroying it to prevent myself from accidentally trying to vape it) let it sit and dry wrapped in a combination of paper and cloth towels for a couple days (thank god i carry backups and back ups for my backups) installed the battery, a fresh carto turned it on and was surprised that it lit up, set the voltage, hit the button and it worked like a champ :vapor: (still does actually but i have moved up to the VAMO now) it carried a faint kerosene smell for a while (still has a very small trace of the smell) it sits on a shelf now but it serves to me as a reminder of what happened.

Try not to focus on the frog on the tank, but rather the power switch on the above BB.

I had placed my BB in my pants pocket that was hanging in my locker at work (I wear scrubs while on the job). I visit my locker for a few quick stealth vapes when I go on breaks. Well, I return to my locker and reach into the pocket for the BB, and the device is too hot to touch.

I grab a towel to protect my fingers, and pull the BB out of my pants' pocket. Then the smell of burnt plastic hits me. I take it to the lavatory and cool it off under running water. I then unscrew the battery cap and pull out the battery. Below is what I found:

Trustfire2.jpg

The 14500 Trustfire "protected" battery had shorted out and blown its ends out, venting hot gases and melting its insulated cover. Because the BB has a protruding, bulbous power switch it had become compressed in the "on" position in my pocket until the battery went into thermal runaway.

For what it is worth, the BB did what it was supposed to do by venting the gases through the power switch. Surprisingly, it continued working for a few days, and then the switch died on me. It had to be replaced by the manufacturer.

Moral to the story: The BB, despite its small form factor, is not a pocket worthy device; at least not unless it is done under direct supervision. And "protected" batteries may not protect you against stupidity or poor judgement. Lesson learned.

After this incident, I acquired a leather lanyard from Serenity Gear to hang the BB from one of the hooks in my locker.

A few days ago,I went to go to my buddy's place and I ran across the street because a car was coming. Before I left, I figured what the hell let's try out this lanyard. Bad idea. My ego twist fell off into the nasty dirty, almost slushy snow on the road.

I wiped it off and let it sit all night... didn't want to use it just in case there was melted snow inside. It seems to be working fine now but the thing was brand new! =/

My provari stays in my shirt pocket while I'm doing the easier tasks of a building inspection. Well I'm inspecting a roof and lean over a little too much while taking a picture of a bad area of roof flashing and watch my provari tumble 28 ft to the pavement below. Ever see a 6'2" 260 lb. guy cry? ...well you would have if you where with me that day! I got down that ladder faster than i could when I was in my 20's! I replaced the destroyed vivi nova tank and vaped with no issues! minor scratches barely noticeable, I did not have any back up with me that day. Now I have 2 back ups as well as the usual spare battery, vivi nova and a spare atty.

I've snapped the entire ego connector off 3 imitation ego batteries by pushing the button LOL

I've also dropped an acrylic 18650 tube mod and shattered it.

And trying to unscrew a stuck 510-ego adapter on a cheaply built but expensive vv mod, I ripped the connector out leaving dangling wires.

I'm hard on PVs... as a result my next one will most likely be a provari...

For the most part I'm sure my issues have been caused more by the "budget" nature of the devices I've had.... for instance my authentic Joye ego batteries are still going strong.

Sent from the ether using the power of my mind... and the Tapatalk app.
