So what would be the ultimate selling point of the KR8 over the 510? From what I gathered, the KR8 has a slightly shorter battery life (shorter than the already-short 510), but I have no concept of the quality differences. I also saw a video which brought up the m401, any thoughts on how this model stacks up to the others? And because I would smoke less, I've heard cartomizers might be the better option for me. However, I've heard that they don't last as long as cartridges, and as a broke college student, I might have to side with the cartridges by virtue that it'll save me money in the long run. That being said, I don't understand the selling point for cartomizers: I don't mind washing cartridges if it's as simple as taking out the filler and letting it sit in alcohol overnight, next to the atomizer. Is the only difference with the cartomizer that it's smaller, and thus more cigarette-like? I would prefer the length of the cartomizer, but not at any serious detriment to quality or durability.

Also, how do I pm people?

A cartomizer is a combo of the atomizer and cartridge. It is just easier to deal with one piece than two, and a cartridge is notoriously inconsistent delivering juice to the atomizer (thus, the reason for the blue foam mod). As little as you smoke, getting a few good puffs off of a cartridge before you havee to fool with it would probably work, and using cartridges is cheaper, as long as you take good care of your atomizer.

To CSKent in particular and to everyone in general: as much as I want to use the e-cig idea to get myself off of analog cigs, the more I (have to) research and the more I find out about the e-cigs, it's becoming very appealing in its own right. And that's what I'm kind of getting afraid of: if I start to vape more, I'll actually be increasing my nicotine intake since I'm not already a huge smoker....but it would still keep me from smoking analog cigarettes. I suppose in the end my health will (probably) be better if I get an e-cig, it's just in the back of my mind that perhaps buying this will exacerbate my addiction to nicotine as I'll want to try out this cool new gadget that I've got. Can anyone, especially lighter smokers, since I feel like there are less barriers to entry into the e-cig world for heavier smokers (cost/health wise), shed some light on how the whole transition into the e-cig world has changed their usage/addiction/health/costs/whatever? I know I'm a bit over-cautious here, it's just that if I'm going to be investing a lot of money (and to me it's a lot.. =/ ) I want to make sure it's in my best interest economically and in terms of addiction/health. Thanks a lot for the speedy replies, guys.

First off, for the way you described your smoking habits, I'm going along with most here and recommend the 510. I use a 510 and vape all day long. The thing to remember here is that although it *seems* like I'm vaping more than I smoked, I'm really not. An average day for me (with smoking) was a cigarette pretty much every hour. Every hour I went outside and puffed on a cigarette about 10-12 times (I could only take small puffs because my lungs were wrecked). Now with vaping, I puff on my pv about every 5 minutes or so - that equals about 12 puffs an hour. The same as I smoked before. So I'm really NOT vaping any more than I smoked, I'm just doing it over an extended period instead of 10-12 puffs in 10 minutes. Hope that made sense to you.

As for the 510 and battery life. As I said, I use the 510 exclusively right now. I also have a PCC. I've never had a single moment when I didn't have a fully charged battery. Remember I said I vape about every 5 minutes? My batteries last me about 3 hours, and they take about 1 hour to charge in my PCC. I only have to charge up my PCC once a day. I don't know why people say 510 batteries only last an hour. Either they had really crappy ones, or I just happened to get 4 really exceptional ones from AltSmoke when I ordered my Yeti 510 Starter Kit (2 batteries came with it, and I ordered 2 extra backups). But I have absolutely NO issues with only having 2 batts on me when I go out (as long as I have the PCC with me).

If you're really concerned about vaping too much (as opposed to your nicotine habit NOW) go with a really low nicotine in your e-juices. Or even order some that's 0mg nic for those "in between" times.

I'm going to agree with DC2 and recommend the 510 and a drip tip. The ease of not having to worry about "wasting" juice by filling cartridges [carts] then constantly having to top them off, is replaced by literally dropping about 2 - 3 drops (or 4 if it's a brand new and completely dry atty) in the drip-tip and taking up to about 6 - 10 drags, depending how deep you hit analogs, then putting it back in your pocket.

I vape in the library all the time. I also vape in class. If you learn how to stealth vape there's no vapor on the exhale. When you get your 510 acquire a pen cap from a cheap black Bic pen and put it over the light. It not only covers the light but people think you're holding a pen and just have a nasty habit of chewing on it.

To stealth vape just take a drag into your mouth then inhale with a half breath. Hold it a second or two then take the other half breath. Hold it for a few seconds and exhale slowly. It takes a little practice but once you get it you can vape pretty much anywhere. I've vaped with people on either side of me in class and no one knew I was doing it. I know it's sneaky but my classes are 3 1/2 hours long, what am I supposed to do?
