New to the site, been vaping for around a year and a half now, and I went through the traditional route of "Buy a 510 because I want it to look like an analog, switch to eGo because I want better battery life," and am now on the "Who the hell cares what it looks like, I just want whatever's best that'll fit in my pocket." I'm looking into box mods with juice reservoirs, because I like the tank system, but haven't had great luck with Joye 510-t or eGo-t atties. Do all box mods have juice reservoirs? What can I expect to get in the $80-$100 range? What features should I look for?

Question two, what is up with clearomizers? I've had trouble finding them, but everytime I meet a veteran vaper puffing on some enormous device with two attomizers they seem to be using them. Are they better in some way, or is this just a style choice?

Also trying to get my post limit out of noob range so I can PM mod suppliers :p

EDIT: The Sgt VV has my attention, but the variable voltage part scares me, I have no idea how exactly that works or what to use it for, and am a bit afraid of screwing it up!

Two words: Clearomizers Crack

There will be some newer CE3 ones showing up in the next weeks or so, supposed to be rid of the cracking and falling apart issues, hopefully rid of the wick-trapped poor wicking issues, etc. Some people are tinkerers. The use the cleearomizers and just take the cracking in stride, maybe replace the tubes, have a good old time. I am waiting for CE3.

mod boxes - no - very few have juice tanks. Look at Boxmods.net. There is also a mods database here Best e-Cig Mod List | e-Cig Mods Database

here ya go - shown by feature Juice Feeders
http://www.ecigarette-mods.com/specs/juice-feeder/

BTW there are things called MAP tanks and ARRY (ARY?) tanks and other CE2 tank mods that use the guts of the CE2 clearomizer and put it in a fatter sturdier clear tank. I have not tried them but that is something you could look into. I know NiteLiteVapor has one kind listed with their cartomizers.

I don't use atomizers except to test juices and drip some that are too thick or just didn't earn cartos. I vape my favorite thin juices in cartomizers. Boge are most popular. And hopefully I will like CE3's
.

...

There are also New CE2's

Clearomizer CE2 RoyalSmokers electronic cigarette factory in Shenzhen

Haven't gotten one in my hot little hands yet but they look promising. If the CE3's don't crack the the New CE2's shouldn't either. They are made of the same material.

Not all box mods have juice feeders and I'd recommend going vv, don't let it scare you, if you don't want to use that aspect of it right now till you learn more just set it to a certain voltage 3.7 or whatever and it'll stay there till you want to change it again. VV provides much more flexability and finding your sweet spot.

At your budget I'd recommend checking out the army tank. It has both a juice feeder and is variable volt.

What's the whole concept behind a clearomizer, though? Is it some form of tank system, or is it just literally a clear atty?

And I'm very interested in the Army Tank, does he have a site he's selling through or is it only through PM?

Also thank you guys so much for replying! I feel like these are questions that get asked a lot, but i couldn't find anything else w/ search.

In some ways, The CE2 was the Original "Tank System".

It's a top coil design which gives a warm hit. They are similar to any Atty in that they can be Dry Burned and reused.

I use the clearomizer almost exclusive now. These do require a little fiddling & maintenance, but with their ample supply of juice and their cleanability and reusability, for me they beat out atomizers and cartomizers hands down. There can be problems with leaking and cracking of the tubes, but if you don't mind just a little fiddling, they can be great.

Whenever I open a new clearomizer, the first thing I do is screw it onto a battery. I grasp the tube and gently rock, wiggle and pull until I loosen it and I pull it up about 1/8 inch, just enough to get it off of the splines at the bottom. I dip the end of a toothpick in super glue, and put a small amount of glue around on the splines of the connector. I then push the tube back down onto the splines. IMMEDIATELY unscrew the clearomizer from the battery and wipe the excess glue from the threads. Set the clearomizer aside for a few minutes before filling.

This will help greatly in securing the tube. When you need to disassemble and clean the cartomizer, simply screw it onto a battery, rock, wiggle and pull and you can break the glue seal. Disassemble, clean and reassemble the unit, gluing the tube back on.

Watch the juices you use in the tube. Acidic juices will crack the tube; use atomic cinnacide and you can literally watch the plastic crack before your eyes! If this happens, and it will eventually crack, get some BD 3ml syringes at walgreens, cut the tubes to the proper length, and you will find these make great replacement tubes; very durable and cheap.

Now I find it is very rare that I get rough enough with a clearomizer to break it.

Hey scrambles. Usually I get mine from GotVapes; they call them fluxomizers there. I believe that most clearomizers are the same, being made by Royal Smokers or something. The ones I like are those with the single fat wick. These things seem to hold up very well. I've got about 10 or so in rotation at all times with different flavors in each. Like all atomizers, dark juices seem to be the hardest on them, as after a half dozen refills, the coil will finally get caked. I lose about one a week, which ain't bad, considering a pack of 5 of them is usually about 11 to 12 bucks.

I like the consistency of flavor with the clearomizers, with none of the too much or too little juice syndromes that most other atomizer/cartomizers have. I even don't seem to have any problem with juice flow/wicking. If I can draw it up into my syringe for refilling, it vapes. If the juice is going to be too thick for the clearomizer, then it is extremely slow to draw through the needle into the syringe; I then thin it down and have no problems.

When I was using my KR808D-1, I was so happy it got me off the cigs. But the battery did not last all day. The cartomizers needed filling and were messy. It was just taking to much of my time. I started looking for different alternatives.

I wanted a PV that I could take to work and not worry about having enough cartomizers and juice to last me all day. I wanted to be able to be confident that my batteries would not run out several times a day.

I looked at the VV tube mods and saw that my juice problem would not be solved. Why would I want to have some huge battery and a cart to keep filling or be dripping on an atty? Sure they are really sharp, precision made and big, but unless they have a juice bottle hanging off the side, they would not work for me.

I saw different tank systems, but they seemed to have problems of their own. Whatever battery you used, it would not last. To use the same charger you were stuck with another purchase of the same battery.

The REO Grand or Mini seemed the perfect choice. I looked at the other box mods that are out there also. But I was sold on the Grands and Minis because they were mechanical, sturdy, and got good reviews all around. They also seemed to be well crafted with top of the line materials. The Grand and Mini are made of aircraft grade aluminum.

My vaping needs have been met, with simplicity and quality.
I bought my first a Grand in the classifieds.
Now 5 months later I have just purchased my 14th REO.

Yes, they are that good!!

Wow! Those prices are fantastic! I didn't realize they were significantly cheaper. Thank you!

EDIT: Clearomizer prices, I mean.

nerak, sounds like you've been on about the same trip that I have, and that much enthusiasm for the Reo does make me curious. Why have you bought fourteen of them? Do they go bad after a while or have you been buying gifts or something?
