As I'm just 2 weeks into vaping I'm following the recommended course of trying new liquids in the pursuit of e-cig nirvanna. I'm using an un-modded (except for teabag cart filler) 510 and am not having any problems with over/underfilling, clogged or otherwise malfunctioning atties or anything else.

That said, I ordered several small trial size bottles of different juices and they arrived yesterday. Based on a couple of posts I read here I odered some StarPuffs vg and it was the first I tried - with a nice clean attie and clean cart filler.

My opinion? It tastes like stale cigar smoke mixed with day old warmed over day old coffee (and yes I know what that tastes like:p). What in the hell is wrong with this stuff!? Is it just my taste? Bad batch?

Anyone else have a similar experience with this stuff?

Taste is very subjective.

Even then, there is a chance that you got a bad batch. Unfortunately, the only way to know if you got a bad batch is to know what a good batch tastes like. And I somehow doubt that you'll be trying StarPuffs again, at least with your own money.

I tried 2 different batches of Cuban Cigar, because I really like Cuban Cigars, and neither tasted anything like a Cuban Cigar. I thought it tasted like what someone who lived under an outhouse must think a Cuban Cigar smelled like. Both bottles, from different parts of the world but same manufacturer, had the same bad taste. I learned that lesson.

You might find a juice that you can mix with your stale cigar smoke and day old coffee flavor that will make it vapable at some point...

YUp you just might not like it - jsut because someon else likes it, or many people do, doesn't mean its
a. Not good or
b. something YOU will like

I've found that out myself with other popular liquids :) Doesn't mean the juice is bad, just means its not my fave. Taste also DOES change - so kept it around and try it again in a couple weeks - and try it again then. I've found stuff I was sure I hated became something I liked and I've no idea what changed lol.
People ask about a 'bad batch' but tbh I think its more likely 'personal preference' than anything else.
I do enjoy the BASIC juices myself, the cherry ones are my faves, but I am not YOU, and at the end f the day all we can recommend is something WE like, not something we know YOU will like.
All the best mate :)

Edit for shortstuff: Its the brand cignot carries - usa made - all vg - BASIC brand.

Keep in mind your taste will come back to normal the longer you are off the real cigarettes. Your juice (and food) will taste better the longer you have been off real cigarettes.

Time for regaining your taste buds will vary among people. Some see a difference in 2 weeks, others 4 weeks some are even longer. For me, my taste started coming back within the first 3 weeks.

Just give it some time and revisit some of the juice you tried the first few weeks. Also, make note that some juice is freshly mixed and it takes a little longer for the juice to settle/mix, I call it a rest period.

Thanks CaptJay. It's funny but yesterday I received a 50ml bottle of Kamel (Dekang) from RMV to try and the first thing I did was open it up and take a whiff and honestly thought it smelled like pee. But it vapes and tastes really good!

As you and others have said, everyone is different and our tastes can change one day to the next.

I appreciate the fact that different people have different tastes, etc. I've tasted many things, food, drink and so forth, that I didn't particularly care for but this stuff was NASTY!

Oh well. Anyway, I'll hang onto it in case of a juice drought or something. I might try mixing it with something at some too.

I'm .... enough that I've started a spreadsheet to score various categories of the liquids I'm trying. So far English Toffee and Cappuchino are ahead of the pack.

I started off trying many different flavors trying to find "the one." I thought I had it all figured out when I tried cappucino, so I ordered 2 30ml bottles of it. Then, for some reason, it just didn't taste good to me anymore. So I kept on searching and finally heard about French Toast. I decided to get some Capella's flavoring, PG, VG, and some 60mg PG to mix with and started making my own. So far it has been wonderful, except for the occassional days that I just can't seem to taste things right.

What I am trying to say is that it took a long time to find the right flavor, and it cost quite a bit of money, but it is all worth it for finally being able to quit smoking!:D

Yeah I feel you. I had got a sample of the starpuffs from cignot and I felt the same way. It was kind of like watered down almost a hint of coffee but not really any flavor. Maybe it could be the fact that I've been puffing on liquids from Tasty Vapor. I've noticed that if I use the whistle tip mouthpiece for my 510 I get more of a concentrated jetstream of smoke that hits my tongue and enhances the flavor more than if I use the standard round mouth piece.

You can trade or sell the stuff you don't like in the classifieds section on here. When you find one you like, look up reviews for that flavor. If the reviewer liked it, see if they have anything else reviewed that they also enjoy. Then try those flavors. I've found a couple go to flavors just by finding people with similar tastes. Oh, and if you get any custom mix, let them sit for a week first. They have to blend, kind of like soup!

Agreed on the starpuff still smoking analogs a few a day though..
I'm going to just sit on mine since I ordered a 20ml of cloves that should keep me pretty happy.

If you order from cignot again I suggest forbidden fruit..best thing I've vaped so far.

I'll keep that in mind. I've tried several flavors and have more on the way. So far my favorites are English Toffee, Cream and Cappuchino - all vg, all from Cignot.
