Yes it is! Thanks for the info. This may very well be my choice, although I wish it came in white. I would prefer one that looks a little more feminine.
well ... coincidently enough there is a pipe... called the "lady pipe" that comes in white , is small and petite and vapes like a powerhouse
Personally I prefer the mini pipe (I have trouble calling it the Lady Pipe 
)
The 601 draw is just a little too smooth and seems to lose throat hit and flavor. Vapor production is amazing, as are battery and cartridge life.
I keep my 601 at home for relaxing evenings and carry my mini (a fake wood-grain* RS888, by the way) with me everywhere.
The Mini is basically an 801 atomizer and cartridge, so it's more convenient to swap out parts with my other 801's. Cartridges are cheap and readily available and I can always twist an 801 battery on it, or the pipe bowl on an 801.
So the 888 is my favorite during the day and the 601 is my favorite at night.

I agree that the 601 is more of a relaxing smoke than anything else I've tried, and I also have the 801, 901, and M401 as comparisons, plus a 510 on the way. I do find I use the 601 more than any of the others now, with the 801 second on the list. I do plan on getting a mini-pipe soon, since I can invest in parts that work with both the mini-pipe and the 801. But hands down, I really do enjoy my 601 immensely.
If you are looking for a more feminine look, though, the mini-pipe is really your only option. Plenty of color choices out there on that one.

Royal is coming out with a manual button mini pipe sometime in the near future. If that sounds interesting hold off buying for a week or two.
I am hesitant to buy anything like the 801. I got the penstyle from EastMall and it has never worked for me. I think the batteries are bad, but I get no response from David when I email him.

David will replace your bad batts! Just email him! He has never failed me in replacing bad parts.

I decided to go with the 601. I hope it works for me. I have has such a frustrating experience with the 801. I still might get the lady pipe for daytime use. Thanks, all for your help.
I guess it depends on if you want to look like Sherlock Holmes or not.
