even if minors cant buy them in the store it wouldnt be hard to get someone to buy them for em or just order it online, i started smoking when i was 12 and i never had a problem finding someone to buy me a pack of cigarettes. targeting children to help ban things that are bad for them is more of a ploy for the government then anything. like when they banned camel exotics because they said it was targeted to kids, but honestly i was in middle school maybe high school at the time and i was smoking, never knew a single kid that saw the flavors and said oh it looks like it tastes good all it was was a shot against the tobacco company to say they were targeting kids trying to get them to smoke to help in the fight against them. no matter whats in the product if someone doesnt like them and the person lobbying against it is good enough with there words they can twist ANYTHING into something bad, so caffiene might just give something else for the government to play with against electric cigarettes but with or without it they'll find something to twist into an arguement against pv's if they really want them gone

Yeah I get your point government hypocrisy just annoys me.

I've wondered about the sense of caffeine and also vitamins in eLiquid. I drink coffee and see caffeine as probably being on par with nicotine so far as being a health issue.

But, as you say, there is a difference between taking something into your digestive tract and taking something into your lungs. Also like you, I am a bit concerned about the food flavorings. But, even more concerned about food coloring, as that is an absolutely unnecessary risk. At least flavoring serves some purpose. Coloring, NOT.

I'll stick with consuming my caffeine and vitamins orally.

So far as ramifications from opponents to vaping are concerned, I can only say the OP's points seem valid to me. Why take the chance? Why do these folks want to complicate the eLiquid? The beauty of vaping (to me) is the reduced harm/risk it offers. Don't increase the risk.

i know im probably in the minority on this part but i didnt get into vaping because of saving my health. i loved smoking but i couldnt afford it and in the long run if you dont go crazy about it its allot cheaper ( still trying to even that out honestly but was my main intention to get into vaping as well as not going outside to smoke). if people want to take the risk and do it i dont think anyone should step in to tell them its wrong if theres not research on it to say its bad for you. im not a doctor cant tell you if its horrible or if its no worse then vaping some normal liquid but im young and dumb and dont care because ive done so much else so i tried it, honestly i probably wont buy any more juice with caffiene in it becuase it doesnt do anything for me, atleast not what i was hoping which was to keep me awake in class with my boring college professers and wake me up in the morning like a cup of coffee

@permafrying: You kinda ignored the sentence immediately before the sentence you highlighted. The sentence which the highlighted part was attempting to support.
i did miss out on that part thanks for pointing it out. was concentrating on how he said why increase the risk but was trying to show that there was other view points on this. as far as what i missed i talked about it earlier, the op was talking about the government using it against us. like i said before, it doesnt really matter they can use anything against us weather its good or bad and make it horrible so in my eyes its not really an issue

Here's another one while I'm on this tangent: Big League Chew, Outta' Here Original Bubble Gum, 2.12-Ounce Pouches (Pack of 12): Amazon.com: Grocery & Gourmet Food

Yes, kiddies, you too can go to your Little League games and imitate real baseball players chewing tobacco.

EDIT: the webpage actually says this: "Target consumer: Boys 6-12 with an active interest in baseball"

Another great argument. I didn't think about this one. Great point!! I can add that to my flavored Vodka argument!!

pbus: here's another you can add to your list. Our latest warning from the elementary school:

Lazy Cakes: "Relaxation BROWNIES" with Melatonin, Valerian Root, and other sleep additives in them, to help you "stop a charging Bull"... sold at a gas station near you!

to learn more, go to Lazy Cakes. Com

This is to counteract those stupid koolaid-type 'upper drinks' they sell <gag>

When the government gets off their 'lazy' arses and DOES something about the REAL problems in this world, instead of harassing those of us trying to help improve our lives.. then I might have a little more sympathy. Until then... NO WAY

NOTE: when I was a young teen-age smoker.. the only 'cool' thing to smoke were Marlboros. My own (now 20yr old) says if ecigs were 'cooler' looking, more people his age would get into them.. right now, SO NOT COOL. They don't want to carry around a Chuck and vape butterscotch. They want a 'tripped out' slim little cigarrette looking thing that will slip into their 'skinny jeans' and tastes like that 'other' smoke-able.

and the FDA is worried about cherry juice! HA.

I think it would be okay as long as the user uses it moderately. I found a site that advertises that their caffeinated eLiquid pushes out approximately 6.7mg of caffeine per drag. Sure, vaping that amount for a session or two shouldn't be harmful; however, if the user is vaping that amount all day long, the results could be really harmful. I am curious to try the caffeinated liquid to see if it really works, but I will, of course, monitor how much of it I have vaped.

I have an argument you can use against that issue. In a recent letter to my Senator:

That, my friend, is a great argument! I have constantly been debating with individuals who are against ecigs that claim that I am just replacing harmful chemicals for harmful chemicals in another form. Of course, that debate is easily won with minimal, very minimal, research ha. Though, I have had people say that it could be marketed towards children, and the only responses I have had are that alcohol, cigarettes and horrible nutrition are already highly marketed towards children through media, but I have never noticed the similarity of flavors found in alcohol and ecigs. Anyways, I just want to give some praise to your really great point!
