I personally dont much like clones. However, if I look at every website and cant find what im looking for because its not in stock ill buy a clone. It honestly amazes me that these companies cant make enough but clone companies can make ......ed amounts in no time. Also they are in most cases half the price or better and I guess I have been lucky because I cant see the difference between the clones and the real thing in most cases.

I have several clones I am very happy with

BUT, I only by them if they are listed as clones and do NOT have the original manufacturers logo and a fake serial number on them as these are outright counterfeits and the counterfeiting manufacturer (or reseller) should not be supported

the originals are usually impossible to get or are priced so high they are not a viable option except for collectors (if the original manufacturers are upset about clones then they should ramp up their production to make them more readily available and a little cheaper for the common man, remember imitation is the sincerest form of flattery)

I bought and use clones as a learning tool in order for me to understand this batery operated gadget. Since im new to vaping and still struggle to quit smoking, i guess i shouldnt spend a lot on it.

Its been 2 month now and i love my clones. Clean it up everyday, recoil as much as i wanted to. When i did found what best suit for me, then i will get myself the original one.
I have tubes, telescopics, genesis, rda, rba and a few sizes of batteries. All clones. :)

I kind of look at it this way, if I could clone my wife I would, so yeah ... as long as you clone something worth cloning, and do it well, why not.

Maurice

You might not want to tell your wife. I know you meant it as a compliment, but she may not see it that way. ;) And i guess the folks at Atmomixani probably don't either. still love my clone Nemi though. lol

cant or wont make enough? Low stock = high price.. but the cloning might have busted that approach ;)

First off, clones are a crap shoot. Most have quality control issues, so even if Hcigar, EHPro make great clones, don't mean that every one that is made is up to quality. I would say that at least 2 out 5 clones you buy will be crap, others will be spot on., so it's a gamble

I prefer Authentic gear, because it's usually always a good investment, will last years and works well. I did buy a nemi clone when first trying a mech mod, but have since bout 2 Authentic ones too. Also have an assortment of some high end rba's and a few clones. I have more clones in a box that don't get used, because they were crap, than clones that I use because they were good.

Clones are good for trying something out, but often one can't judge the performance of the authentic by using just the clone. All my Authentic gear is Great Vapetastic!! My clones, well, more of it is crap than good, but the good ones are great.

Not all clones/fakes or whatever are bad. I remember years back when fake/bootleg BBC Microcomputers turned out to be better than the originals! I can't quite recall in what way however, and so you'll just have to take my word for it.

Here's a link for Brits, guaranteed to deliver an ecstasy of nostalgia:

Clones are definitely a hit or miss. You could order 2 of the exact same clones and easily have one be perfect and the other have thread issues, missing parts, parts that don't fit correctly, etc. There is a severe lack in QC that comes with the low price of clones. I have a few clones and they have a purpose... I mostly use them for going out in public and traveling so I don't worry if I drop it.

I've had few problems with HCigar clones. I almost wish they wouldn't clone and would just make up their own products at the price they're selling the clones at.

Ikr? I have a Panzer counterfeit,(that's what I prefer to call an item that replicates a style and logo)in my FastTech cart. Some of us just can't pay top price for a real one. I have looked around several places for a used King,(my preferred mechanical) and even when I can find one, they are still around $200! Duh

I don't have any; the B&M shops here don't have any to sell. What IS available are older models (MVP v1 for instance) being sold for more than the latest versions. That MVP v1 at one shop is $69.99. Needless to say, I don't do business there anymore. I use clearos, and I just purchased a PT2 and Iclear 30s, 16.99 and 15.99 respectively, which I don't consider to be a huge amount of money for a good product. YMMV

Clones are all I can afford right now, having just bought a new house/waiting on old one to sell, plus new baby on the way. I need to keep buying stuff, while I could afford to buy 1 legit mod every couple months, right now I'd rather buy 4 or 5 clones. You can bet that I have my eye on some genuine mods and will be going crazy when house sells and baby is settled in!

Sooner or later the OEM folks will learn how to jump through the hoops of doing business, and cloning won't be a problem. For example; no one has ever cloned the Provari, and they would pay through the nose if they tried.

Personal opinion is that some deserve being cloned, maybe next time they come up with a new design they won't rip the vaping community off!

In general, I think it's great that China makes mountains of cheap, readily available gear, because this means that more people will be tempted to quit smoking and try vaping. Props all around.

    :)

Copying logos, on the other hand, is disgusting and unnecessary. The only reason people get away with this is because the original creators are tiny operations without legal protections.

    :grr:
