There are two threads that show up at the rate of about 1 per day. Clone threads and Provari threads. I've seen some get pretty heated, though this one is pretty civil except for my trolling. Those of us who have been around a while like to get a chuckle out of it. Go into any provari debate and I'll guarantee within 3 pages of it getting heated someone will say "i like waffles".

You totally left out the "can we stop calling it" threads. I have to have seen at least 3-4 of those last week alone. lol

Every piece of gear I have is authentic, with the exception of a brass mechanical Caravela clone I ordered from Fastech. There's definitely no reason for me to pay $1,500+ for that thing. I'm no elitist and am blessed with a well paying career, however I've done the "spend less, buy it twice" before and not about to start if something were to happen with spare parts availability & resell value. I don't look down at clones, but I do wish they didn't copy the logos and serial numbers on them.

I recently bought an nzonic clone and it's decent. Although I have nothing to compare it to since it's my first mech mod. Lol but I did buy it just to see and experiment with it and to see if I wanted to take it to the next level with the authentic mods and I think it served its purpose. I want to get the most out of this hobby and I feel that you won't achieve that unless you're using the real deal mods.

I do feel that Modders should be supported so that we can support innovation, If you can afford an authentic device you should get it, if you cannot afford it, then whatever keeps you off of the smokes be it clones or whatnot.
Just my two cents.

Not to express any opinions whatsoever for or against clones, but there isn't much innovation going on with (mech) mods. Differences in looks mainly. Regulated mods and toppers are a different thing, but most of those also follow fairly similar technical designs.

Sure there is.VV/VW mods haven't caught up to mechanicals imo.

The Kick2 will take a mechanical mod up to 15watts and I hear there is a plan for an ever bigger one. Then there is the bottom feeders and other box mods.

I don't mind clones there great for testing to see if I want to spend the big bucks on the real thing. And if my vape budget is low I can still buy new products. But you do get what you pay for!

Pretty simple. If you cant afford the real thing, get a clone. Expect inferior build quality.

If you can get the real thing, do so. Support the manufacturer/designer.

I think clones are good, not everyone can afford to buy the authentic products, I have 2 kayfun lite clones and another one on the way, I love the vapor and flavor from them, but I would never even have 1 if had to pay the $100+ they want for the authentic one, and from what I have read around, you really can't tell much difference between the 2 when vaping, I understand the authentic is probably made better and will last longer, but I like to have 3-4 juices on the go at the same time.

Also people will say the authentic will last years and much longer than a clone, which I'm sure is true, but vaping is advancing so fast, there will be something better next week to try out and spend money on.
