just like the title says what's your vaping story?
I started vaping with cheap magic puff disposables that i got from a gas station, and after a few months i finally bought a magic puff starter kit, which lasted me about two months before it broke when a new tank i bought got double threaded and pulled it apart. After that i moved onto an ego-c with a dc-x bdc tank (still have the battery) and it worked great. About 6 months ago my friend sold me a tornado rcs wich it was my favorite vape that i had (unfortunately it was stolen from me at a party) and now im using a tecc mvp2 which is totally wicked's knock off of the itaste with a v4 tank and atomizer.

Started with Volcano E-Cig's Magma (cig-alikes) about 4 years ago. There were meh. Tried 'em for a little while, but kept smoking. Pulled 'em out a year later. Still meh. Didn't like the battery life or the cartridges - they just tasted "fake" for what the flavors described. Plus, they changed the filler material which IMO made them worse.

'Bout 7 months ago, got some refillable cartridges (hadn't found ECF yet, which probably would have saved me some time, money, and effort) and bottled juices (still from Volcano.) Hey, getting a little better. I could mix different flavors in the cartridges and kinda make my own combinations..... Got an Inferno kit with the BCT Tanks. After I got past the gurgling and juice leaking, it was getting even better. Stumbled onto ECF and realized there are these things called B&M (Brick & Mortar - storefronts) IN MY OWN TOWN!!!!! Popped in there and picked up a couple of spinners and EVOD tanks. My B&M makes its own juices (for a heck of a lot less than what I previously had, and they tasted WAAAAAYYYYY better.)

Quit smoking in March (mostly after feeling a little guilty about how much I'd spent on vape stuff - figured I didn't need to spend any more on cigarettes.)

Discovered VV3s and MVPs. Learned to rebuild my EVOD heads. Picked up some kayfun clones, including a couple of minis. Just got a Nautilus tank this week.

Started DIY'ing my juices a few weeks ago.... All in all, settling in nicely and about ready to celebrate six months smoke-free :)

Welcome, and enjoy the vape! :vapor:

Hi :)

I smoked for 36 years. Then in 2009, I found a cig-a like and I really wanted that to be "the thing" that became my magic pill. I had tried all sorts of things, cold-turkey, nic replacements, etc. Nothing worked and sadly neither did the cig-alike. It was like sucking a golf ball through a straw and gave me not enough joy.

So I tried another cig-alike kit, same thing and another; same thing. Then, I gave up.

In 2011 (I think) my son's friend showed me his E-Go battery with clearomizer. WOW, I actually liked that and thought it was the schiznit....that is until I bought my Provari. This, was heaven; but the clearomizer just wasn't doing it for me. They would leak and just be fussy in general.

So, with the help of Baditude's great advice I tried Carto tanks. I love carto tanks and have a few Ibtanked and a couple of Phiniacs.

In fact, I was having so much fun that my adult son (smoker) noticed and now he wanted to vape too. So, for Christmas I set him up with a Provari and a couple of good carto tanks.

Right now, I am looking to finally get into RBAs. So, I plan on buying a couple of Kayfuns, one for me and one for my son. I will build his coils.

I love vaping and I especially love this community.

I still have a cig now and then. But now it is a choice. Oddly, every time I do I remember how much cigs really suck. Either way, I am down from a pack a day to practically nothing. I'd say that is pretty good. :p

Hi, I smoked for 40 years. Then my son quit smoking and started vaping. He tried to talk me into to vaping he even gave me a box mod he made and the carto tanks he made for himself. I thought I looked pretty stupid and would only use it at home ( I am hard headed old man) but, I kept using and one day my wife said you don't smell like analogs the house smells better your truck smells better. At work I asked the owner of the shop I worked at for 17 years if I could vape at work and they said if it dose not offend anyone it's ok. No one in our shop objected in fact I have given some of my old stuff to my co-workers and they have stopped smoking. That was almost 2 years ago. Of course the only down side to this is I love great well made tools and I own some great mods like my Swan SS 18650, ELA's, Precise Plus 18650, Simplicity 18650's, Vanilla Copper 18650 and a ton of Kayfuns. I know my quality of life is better now and I my live a little longer because of my son (Covert) on this forum. Well That's My :2c:

I went balls to the wall and bought an MVP a few weeks ago and haven't touched an analog cigarette since. I'm not coughing as much but I did go blind in my right eye for some reason. The idea of smoking a camel seems gross to me already but I'd like to be able to see out of my right eye too. If anyone has any experience with this I'd like to hear about it but don't get carried away with more than a few sentences.

I've been smoking for about 10 years. One of my brothers-in-law gave me his cheap cigalike he never used; it came in handy since I was traveling internationally, and didn't want to go through customs multiple times, with a 4 hour layover. After those couple days, I never used it again, I just couldn't stand the cheap flavor of whatever "menthol" juice was in those cartos.

My husband and I have friends that frequently host BBQs, and I'm always meeting new people there. There was a man there a few times that always ends up being pretty popular because he vapes. He lets people try his mod and he changes the flavors throughout the night, and I really enjoyed it, but I wasn't actually aware it can be used as an effective smoking alternative (I don't think he used ejuice with nicotine).

Anyway, I recently started building my fitness level, which makes me notice just how gross analogs are. In addition, I feel a little shameful being the only smoker within my group of friends (although they will ask for a drag when they are drunk). Problem is, I actually enjoy stepping out for a smoke, and the solitude on the bancony at night. I'm one of those people that started smoking as a way to get a break from people and crowds. But I'm getting older now, and want to take better care of myself. I started googling e-cigarettes, ordered a starter kit from Halo, and later that day, I found this forum. The more research I did, the more stuff I ordered.

As of now, I've been vaping on a G6 for two days without analogs, and waiting for about 3 packages. I think the G6 is OK, but once I recieve the MVP, I will probably use it for when I'm away from home.

I smoked for over 43 years my wife 35 years. Our son got us our ego kits for Christmas. I stopped analogs on feb 26th my wife two weeks later. We never even considered quitting analogs, we figured if vaping helped us cut down to only a very few cigs a day then we would be better off. We both put them down and haven't looked back no desire to no regrets. We love it.

Have you ever heard of a spurious correlation? A happens, B happens, A is thought to have caused B. Correlation does not prove causation.

One example: Nationwide, as ice cream sales increase, drownings increase. Does ice cream CAUSE drowning? Or, is there a 3rd factor? Heat. More heat, more ice cream sales, more heat, more swimming, more drowning.

So, you quit smoking/started vaping & your eye went blind. One did not cause the other. Smoking will not restore your vision. There is a third factor. PLEASE see your doctor about this, (I happen to be one) to have the necessary testing done.

Lots of new learning done in the last 13 mos. of vaping. Started with the MVP1 and 6 days later won a ProVari at my very first vape meet. Haven't used anything but those mods since, but did learn to rebuild coils for my ProTanks and Davides and have just started using the Nautilus's with the BVC's. Never thought a year ago that you could get excited about wire in the mail!

This vaping business is so much more interesting, pretty/handsome, and down right more flavorful than tobacco. I was lucky enough to meet The Vapin' Greek (Dimitris Agrafiotis), and he put my story on philum! :p Below is my story. :)

Granny, I just watched that video (had never seen it before). I just want to say I think you're absolutely adoreable, and I'd like to adopt you!!!!!!!

THANK YOU for your stand on the vaping industry. If there were more like you, there wouldn't be the "regulation nazis". Congratulations on your successes and blessings to you and "Hubby"!

Of course I know about causation. I appreciate where you're coming from and congratulations on getting your medical license but I'm not a huge ..... who runs to the doctor over every minor issue. My friend Jim suggested all the coughing was what was keeping me from going blind.

Hey Member :)

I think the poster was just concerned that a loss of vision is a pretty unusual thing. I hope this gets better for you. All medical licenses aside, this may be one of those times were a check up might not be a bad idea. FTR, I am the same as you. I don't go to a doc until stuff is falling off.

Great job on your decision to vape by the way! With the exception of the eye thing, it's a great story. I "liked it" and then read that you were having an issue. So I "unliked" for fear that you would think that I thought that was a good thing.

Is it getting any better?

My story is probably similar to others, smoked for most of my life and when the health effects of age caught up to me more quickly than my friends because I was a smoker I started thinking about it.

I tried everything, gum, patches, Wellbutrin, and even Chantix. None of them worked. I got an ecig one time at a gas station and it seemed to work for the cravings it just wasn't satisfying.

I finally got more serious about it and bought a Foos ecig and found it was actually satisfying. I hadn't really done any research to find them a neighbor had one and told me where to get it. I used it for several months while still smoking.

Finally, I turned 45 and decided this had gone on long enough and switched over to the ecig altogether on April 5th. Since then, I have upgraded from the simple battery tank combo and use more robust tanks and usually use the regulated mods.

I bought my one and only RBA, the Kayfun lite Russian clone and love it. I am down to 12 mg of nicotine and will probably step down again soon.

My original plan was to eventually stop the vaping to, but now I am not so sure. I enjoy it a lot, and the flavors available are great.

Over-all, I am very happy vaping and sure to hope the regulators don't make it ridiculously expensive like they did cigarettes.

Thank you, DingerCPA. :) My "infamy" all got started because I shook Phil Busardo's hand firmly. He came for one of our Scenic City Vapers vape meets last Feb. For that one had 600 people. Of course, Busardo was the big draw and I had to knock a few people over to get to him to thank him for his reviews which I watch religiously along with my "homie", Dimi Agrafiotis.

The past year has not been good health wise for both of my daughters; but they're fighting their way back and I've not once resorted to smoking to ease the fear and doubts about their situation. Yep, those two cartons are still in my pantry. Think it's time to get rid of them. That is a major testament to the power of vaping......provided you have the right equipment. :D

I pray your daughters are getting better. Good for you - not resorting to those beasties in the cartons. I lost my uncle last summer to lung cancer, and I'm still "young enough" to try to avoid that fate. I'm 6-months smoke-free now.... I've seen a couple of Phil's videos. I'll look for Dimi now too :)

Right equipment *IS* the key (that's why it took me 3-1/2 years).

(Just call me "Dinger" or "Mary" - much less wordy ;) )

Blessings

My quitting story is in my single blog entry, click the little '1' under my name :)

Progression wise, I started with EVOD II's, then moved on to a Provari + Nautilus kit. I love the nautilus, but the coils are pretty pricey so I decided to try RTA's and picked up a couple Kayfun Lite clones. Better flavor and pennies a day to maintain makes me happy.

I started with the gas station minis about 6 months ago. Couldn't stand the things. Went for an eGo twist after a couple of weeks. That served my purpose for awhile but last month upgraded to a tube mod setup. Had a local B&M recommend a good build for me. $300 later and I'm vaping like a mad man and loving every minute of it!

I'm 26 yrs old, I started smoking at 16. Last year I bough a Blu-cig starter kit used for a month batteries wouldn't hold a charge anymore. I then bought a prosmoke starter kit and the same thing, once the batteries does out I wouldn't order more batteries because I wasn't fully satisfied with the product. I then saw some FB vids of peolpe blowing nice big clouds and I finally discovered mech mods and haven't looked back since I've researched and read tons of info and haven't put it down.
