Month 2 and I am begginning to get wheezy lungs especially in the morning. Also a rough cough usually in the morning or after a nap. Cant wake'n'vape without coughing up a storm either. Any ideas whats going on?

Probably what you’re vaping, man.

I just had a very disturbing experience with some bad juice. I vaped this stuff all day in 24mg PG Vanilla. Toward evening I started coughing, bad! When I went to bed, I woke up very early feeling like I had done about 15 analogs (I’m smoke free). My stomach had that queasy, analog feeling. I could not go back to sleep.

I received an order for this product a few days ago. I was kind of suspicious of this super cheap juice, because it was so inexpensive and it came in plain opaque plastic bottles, with no information other than the flavor and the mg (I don’t want to flame the merchant here, because I’m not absolutely certain the juice was the problem, but I’m sure enough to swear off it).

I emailed and asked the merchant for a list of ingredients. The lists came back in Chinese. The chemical names and numbers/percentages were readable though.

I’m no chemist, but several of the chemicals looked suspicious, as I don’t recall seeing them in other juices, so I looked them up in Wikipedia. The toxicity shown on some of these ingredients was downright frightening! Even at 1%!

In the interest of not seeming to be a sissy, I think I decided to vape it all day just to see what the results would be, that is to see if my suspicions were correct. After all, I had mixed some of this stuff with other stuff, and I wanted to know if I could deal with it, or if I needed to throw the whole batch out.

Apparently my suspicions were confirmed.

From this point on, if the listing is not on the site, I will ask all merchants for an ingredients list before ordering any juice.

I think though, at our less than 6 month level, morning/start up vape coughs are normal. I posted on this and some of the pros said this is so.

I don't cough but do have a little wheeziness sometimes, which may be normal for me this time of year. I have noticed alot of throat clearing going on though, which in my opinion is probably from inhaling so much liquid that my lungs are needing to move back up and out. Not a big deal, better than trying to hack up chunks o'tar! And my voice is improved alot too.
I think too much vaping at night could be the culprit in the wheezing if you're sure that you don't have some iffy juice. Are you using high nic at night? I add a drop or two of VG to what I'm evening vaping often to smooth it out a bit. We all hear Steve is getting the VG soon, looking forward to trying some!

Though other things (like contaminated/low quality juices) may be causing additional discomfort, you're at the right time to start feeling your lungs shedding the terrible stuff you've been putting into them.
It only takes a matter of days after quitting analogs before the cilia (microscopic hairs) in your respiratory system start regrowing.. and usually within a couple of months your lungs start sloughing off a layer of damaged cells.
This is also around the same time, if you're not already showing warning signs, that your risks of long term health complications from smoking start dropping like a stone. :)

I've never used it, but some people seem to swear by nhaler's "lung juice" for restoring some health... think that might be one of my upcoming purchases, too.

LOL Not nasty to me. I'd talk to your doctor or try a good OTC antihistamine/decongestant (pharmacist can recommend the best for your needs) Using a humidifier will definitely help if you are running heat in your home.

Smokers tend to form "protective mucus" in their airways, when you stop smoking and your lungs heal, that stuff has to come up. It could be that you are experiencing the healing process and some allergies at the same time.

The symptoms are worse in the morning because you have been lying down all night and that goop collects by virtue of gravity.

it's just very strange. Maybe just some allergy. And alot of morning clear mucus, nose and cough (sorry to get nasty).

Analog FREE since early July 2009. Usually NO Nicotine, many assorted flavors, some bought, some home made. ALL the positive benefits of quitting tobacco BUT major wheezing about 3 minutes after laying down at night, just as bad as when I'd smoke 3 packs on a road trip before end of the day. I "chain vape", leave the house with at least a dozen 901's and a few 301's (for display), most run dry before the batts die so I refill at stop lights and traffic jams. ...., that's the only real neg effect, unless you count sticky hands from e juice overflow. All in all, we're better off vaping. Try stopping vape activity an hour before laying down ... that will diminish the intensity of the wheeze. I find using VG gives less lung punch and throat hit but still satisfys. Breathe deep and be proud. SD

Blooper, when I first started ecigs, I didn't cough or wheeze after the first few days and didn't have any of the nasty coughing many people described when first starting to vape vs. analog smoking. But after a month of only a few analogs, then quitting analogs completely 37 days ago, I have, in the past couple of weeks started wheezing and coughing up junk. I'm chalking it up to my lungs finally cleaning themselves out. I hope this is what it is, because in spite of this, my lungs are much clearer and I can take deep breaths now where I couldn't do that when smoking analogs.

Hopefully it's just a transitional phase that will pass, just like the lightheadedness the first week, when I started getting oxygen into my cells again.

I'm not really that worried about it, but it does make you wonder what's going on in there. :(

Before I started vaping which was about 7 months ago I had developed COPD and had bronchitis off and on. My husband told me he was really worried because he could hear with wheezing at night. After switching to ecigs I completely quit coughing and wheezing. Then about a month ago I started coughing and noticed a little wheezing. It seems to worry me. I really don't know what is going on. I use the same mg of liquid I have always used and I vape the same amount of time.

I went to the doctor about a month ago and he told me my lungs had improved alot. I don't know what is going on. I never had any coughing or the things most poeple say they got after switching to ecig like coughing up phlegm. This is only a little coughing and wheezing. It's not nearly as bad as it was when I was smoking.

Hmmm... maybe this has to do with how much we smoked and for how long before we switched and what condition our lungs are actually in from all the analogs.

I smoked for 38 years, almost 2 packs a day of Marlboro Reds, so I know there's junk in there that needs to come out.

I thought my sense of taste and smell were back a couple of weeks off analogs, but lately, my sense of smell and taste are twenty times better than they were at that time. I can smell KFC for a mile after I pass one now. :) Not sure if that's a good thing or not, but I'll take it. Also, I can really smell all the exhaust coming out of cars, it's really nasty.
